Mission Control

This cute little astronaut has just been floating around my desk waiting to get inked up.  I had some fun with this card and – it’s like two cards in one.  I’ll try to explain what I did.

The Poppy cardstock is a standard card size 8.5 X 5.5 scored at 4.25 I cut a window out of the front panel using a square die cut.  You can use any shape for this – since I’ve thought about it I think a circle would have looked like the porthole on the rocket.  I stamped the sentiment directly to the front of the card and after die cutting the rocket mounted it to the front as well.  I lined the inside of the square with a piece of  window plastic to give the look of a window.

The inside of the card is 8 X 5 scored at 4 (I just used white cardstock and layered on the planets B&T cut to 5 X 4.  I then popped up the space man and star with some thin 3D foam tape.  I made sure that they could be seen from the window on the front of the card.

The inside of the card is stamped with the sentiment and a star and planet just to add a little dimension.  The white cardstock was attached to the poppy cardstock with about an inch of adhesive near the spine – I wanted it to remain floppy and then I tied it in with a piece of poppy thick twine.

I can’t wait to play some more with this rocket man.  If you’d like to add him to your stamps make sure to get him ordered before April 30th.  He comes with a matching die cut set that makes creating so much more fun.

I hope you’ll take a minute to leave me a comment so I know that you stopped by!

Until later,
