Happy Friday and welcome to another week of the Color My Heart Color Dare. This week we are featuring the colors: Poppy, Lemon & Willow
Today my card features one of my favorite B&T papers from the Central Park collection. The Willow paper just reminds me of a yard full of grass…it’s funny the feelings a paper can conjure up don’t you think!
There are two things about this card that I really thought I needed to share:
- Although I started with a pattern from MIFYH (Make It From Your Heart) Vol 4, I’ve only used it as a starting point. My sentiment square size was changed to fit my sentiment and I added a piece of Zip Strip across the bottom and then a circle with a second sentiment. The Make It From Your Heart patterns can be used again and again either just as they are or as a jumping off point for your own creation. People tell me time and time again that I can whip up a card in no time at all, by using these How To Books I put my card making into high gear.
- Let me call attention to that sentiment square again. The Quotable Words (D1786) stamp set is sold as a scrapbook stamp set and sometimes I think card makers see “scrapbook” and turn their nose up – card makers are an elite group after-all 😉 Unfortunately I think you miss out a bit that way…a stamp is a stamp is a stamp! It is in YOUR power to use them in any old way you want – don’t let a company paint you into a corner just because it says “scrapbook” or is in the scrapbook section of a catalog.
OK, now it’s YOUR turn! The full details on how to join the fun is in the sidebar of our homepage.
While at the homepage – check out what the other design team members have created and leave them a little love (comments make our day)!
You make two very valid points, Tracey! Your card is bold, bright and perfect for any birthday. Love it!
