I’m back with another card that I swapped at the Close to My Heart Convention at the end of June. Last year was the first year that I had swapped cards and it’s a great way to engage with the other consultants and get AMAZING cards for inspiration all for the cost of swapping one of your own creations!
This 4 X 4 card was bright and cheery and a good reminder that there are so many beautiful reasons to be happy. Although it’s advertised in the Catalog as a “scrapbooking” stamp set – don’t let it deceive you – this is an adorable stamp for cards.
I’ll be back next week with pictures of some of the cards I received…I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing a little of my convention happenings. If you’d like to join me in Provo, Utah next year I’d love to have you as part of my Close to My Heart family. Joining is as easy as a little conversation and the purchase of a $75 consultant kit in which you receive an immediate coupon for $50 in product.
I didn’t think the Punny Pals stamp set could get any cuter, but with the new matching thin cuts in the October Share A Smile card they are 13 times cuter! That’s one thin cut for each cute little critter!
My card is 4X4 and I first cut a circle before running it through the Alphabet Embossing folder. I added a piece of B&T behind the circle cut out and then popped up the front panel with 3D Foam tape. I added my die cut and colored animals with some Thin 3D Foam tape. I think this would make a perfect baby card, birthday card or just a happy hello to share a smile.
Don’t miss out on the Share a Smile card kit…it’s just $39.95 while supplies last.
Thanks for stopping by!
Happy Friday! Can you believe we are almost half way through May and it’s time for the Color Dare again? This week the Color My Heart Color Dare is featuring the colors: Blosson, Raspberry, Lagoon, Black, White Daisy & Silver.
My little 4X4 card is just small enough to stick in a computer bag to be found at a later date letting someone know he’s special to me! I stamped the M sized Dandy stamp on my background and then layered my sentiment on circles I cut with our new thin cuts, a banner cut from our silver shimmer trim finished things off.
OK, now it’s YOUR turn! The full details on how to join the fun is in the sidebar of our homepage. Each color dare is open until 9:00 CDT on Thursday!
While at the homepage – check out what the other design team members have created and leave them a little love (comments make our day)!
I hope you all have a terrific Mother’s Day Weekend!
I had a special request to bring the dragonfly stamp out of retirement for one more card class – focusing on the technique that I used on this card.
This one was twice the fun since I also added it the very simple to make Double Z fold card.
For now let’s focus on that dragonfly…it’s actually a very simple technique called Rock & Roll. First I stamped my dragonfly in Whisper Ink and die cut him – I used this as my base. I then inked up the clean stamp in Glacier Ink and rolled the edges in Juniper to add an additional color to the wings. This technique works great with a solid stamp. I then ran that dragonfly through the Big Shot and cut off the wings which I popped up with thin 3D foam tape – I sort of bent them and shaped as I fidgeted with the card to give them some dimension.
I hope you’ll take a minute to try this technique…it really is a simple way to give your cards a little pop!
Thanks for stopping by and sharing some time with me today!
If you are familiar with social media – you know that hashtags are a big deal, so I couldn’t resist using the #true love sentiment on this cute 4X4 card perfect for Valentine’s Day.
- (on social media sites such as Twitter) a word or phrase preceded by a hash or pound sign (#) and used to identify messages on a specific topic.
There is no doubt that I have fallen in love with the True Love Operation Smile stamp set. If you have not added this set to your collection, I really encourage you to – not just because it’s adorable, but because it benefits Operation Smile. Close To My Heart is donating seven dollars from the purchase of each True Love stamp set to Operation Smile.
I chose to start with a base of Raspberry which I embossed with the heart embossing folder (now retired) layered a piece of black cardstock and the image stamped on white daisy which I colored in with my ShinHan markers. I then stamped a scrap of white daisy with raspberry ink and used the new circle thin-cuts to cut it. I sponged the edges and popped it up with some 3D foam tape. Cute Valentine complete in less time than it took for you to read my blog today!
Since August 1st, 2016 – YOU, my customers have donated over $130 to help change the life of a child in personal donations and the purchase of this stamp set. I’ve decided to sweeten the pot a little further. When you purchase the True Love stamp set through my website from today thru February 13th I will match that $7 donation to Operation Smile. For as little as $240 you can provide a life changing smile in the life of a child.
The Adore You stamp set on first glance may seem all hearts and flowers, perfect for Valentine’s Day, but this stamp set shouldn’t be put away after February.
This simple 4 X 4 card features a panel of Sea Glass and White Daisy cut with the Art Philosophy cartridge with the floral spray was stamped in the upper corner. I then stamped the single flower in the lower corner and added the thank you sentiment in the opposite lower corner. The flowers were colored with my ShinHan Touch Twin markers. I finished with just a sprinkling of bitty sparkles.
If you’d like to add the Adore You stamp set to your collection of stamps it’s available during the month of January for $5 with a qualifying order. I’d love to be your consultant so please either leave me a comment with how I can contact you or you can visit my webpage at http://www.papercraftingprincess.ctmh.com
Would you believe that most of the products used to make this card can be yours for free?
That’s right…at our lowest hostess level you can earn most of the products I used to make this card and if you book a gathering in January I’ll throw in a package of Clear Sparkles, too, because ‘a little bling never hurt anything’! My January calendar is filling up quickly so make sure you leave me a comment if you’d like to host a gathering of your own.
The A Wreath stamp set has a matching Thin Cuts however for this card I just stamped it on a circle and colored it with my ShinHan Touch Twin Markers.
Here’s a list of the products I used:
- A1193 My Acrylix® Wreath
- Z3294 Memo Fundamentals
- 1385 12″ x 12″ White Daisy Cardstock
- Z899 Black Memento™ Ink Pad
I’ll be sharing some additional artwork using the A Wreath stamp set in the near future!
Are you blessed with someone special in your life? I could go on and on about the people that bless my life, but this one’s for my hubby!
I combined the September Stamp of the Month Blessed Beyond Measure with the Operation Smile stamp set True Love. Those bright new colors are from recently revamped Adventure Paper Fundamentals. I colored in the boy and girl with my Shin Han Touch Twin Markers and paper pieced the little boy’s balloons.
The September stamp of the month can be yours for just $5 US with a qualifying purchase. It’s a beautiful stamp set with leaves, pumpkins and the most gorgeous script sentiments. You can add it to your shopping cart by clicking here.
Don’t forget while you’re shopping to add the True Love stamp set to your cart too. For every stamp set sold, Close to My Heart will donate a portion of the proceeds to Operation Smile. I’m hoping to raise enough money to fund a smile this year and I’m well on my way! If you’d like to help my journey you can visit my website and make a donation there! There’s a little box on the checkout page for you to enter your donation.

Have you caught the coloring bug? Coloring has always been a big part of my life…I remember sitting at the coffee table as a child while my mom watched The Young & The Restless coloring in my color books…it’s a wonder my son was not named Jack or Victor, LOL!
I was thrilled when I turned the page of the Annual Inspiration book and found the Botanical Backgrounds stamp set. This line drawing floral is three separate stamps that are perfect for coloring. Unlike a coloring book with just one page of each image the Botanical Backgrounds stamp set can be inked and recolored as your heart desires.
I paired the stamp with the black & white geometric background of La Vie En Rose – hubby didn’t like it until I had it colored in!
I use our Black Memento Ink pad which is an archival quality ink pad that works for any stamping project and can be used with alcohol markers, watercolors or any of our other coloring options.
What are your thoughts on that Bitty Birthday stamp set? Two stamps to help you make all your birthday cards for just $2.95 – CRAZY!!!
I hope you’ll give the Botanical Backgrounds card a spin, leave me a comment that includes your memories of coloring!
