It’s a brand new month which means there is a brand new stamp of the month! Who doesn’t love balloon animals? The real ones or this adorable stamp set that’s only available in the month of February.
I recently participated in a monthly swap where I received so many fun cards – no two looked the same. If you’d like to see the assortment you should come to one of my classes this month – today is the last day to sign up for both the $5 Card Class and the Valentine Class – so don’t waste any time!
This is my card. I decided that I wanted to keep my card bright and cheery so I kept the colors in the Adventure family. I started with a base of Gypsy Paper Fundamentals and just built on it from there. I liked that the pattern on the fundamentals was similar to the frame around the sentiment.
I have a fun idea to use this stamp set on a scrapbook page, but I have to find the pictures from last Valentine’s Day when Miss B and I went to dinner at the Spaghetti Factory with my sis-in-law and her girls. Organizing my photos is a BIG goal this year.
I’ve decided that my mind works in mysterious ways. First of all, when I looked at this weeks sketch from the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge all I could see was water – waves upon waves. Maybe I need a vacation to the ocean!
I decided that I wanted to do something totally out of the box for me so I started thumbing through my Cricut guides and these glasses popped right off the page at me. They have wavy lines – right? Then I decided since I hadn’t played with my Operation Smile stamp set yet that this cute little mouse with huge glasses would be just the stamp to use! Totally goofy right? But I wasn’t done!
I’d also seen a card in the Annual Inspirations Book that I have been wanting to recreate – Idea Book = Inspiration!!! So, my Cricut got another workout this time cutting a background with lines and scallops.
Since I only wanted the bottom half of the card to have the design I cut part of the die cut piece off. I then lined the card with shimmer trim (that was the hardest part making sure it showed where I wanted). I then stamped the card with a soon to be released stamp “You’re One of a Kind”! This card has a LOT of sparkle!
Thanks for stopping by – I love reading your comments so please let me know what you think. Stop by the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge to see what everyone else is doing with this sketch.
One of the greatest benefits of belonging to the Close to My Heart family is swapping cards with sister consultants!
Friday night I opened my house to host our annual holiday gathering as my upline’s power was out after our Tuesday storm. It’s probably one of the best times I’ve had in a long time – all I needed to provide was a clean house and good directions!
Even though I hadn’t signed up to participate after seeing the White Pines cards that were being swapped I made a promise that I would make some cards and drop them in the mail – that is the top of my Monday To Do List!
In the meantime I received these three beautiful cards for inspiration.
I love that Maggie used the zip strip from this B&T – the pretty packages are such an addition to this beautifully decorated tree.
Julie did a fun 4X4 card using the branches from the Hostess Stamp Set Joyful Garden.
Debi used a bold JOY cut from the Cricut. She used my two favorite papers from this paper packet. I love the way she tied the bakers twine.
I also made a promise that I would participate with this swap group more often…so hopefully you’ll be seeing this post again next month. With that I’d better go get busy!
Lemonade is probably one of my all time favorite summer drinks…it used to be iced tea and then I married into a Texan family that is all about Sweet Tea, but it just doesn’t seem to have the same thirst quenching power of Lemonade.
I fell in love with the Iced Cold Summer My Acrylix stamp set in the Seasonal Expressions 2 idea book so it was soon on my wish list and amazingly now part of my collection 🙂 Funny how that happens!
This stamp set paired perfectly with the Taste of Summer papers for National Scrapbook Month from Close to My Heart. Do you have yours? Follow the link and get them ordered before the end of May and pick up the matching stamp set and you’ll be all set for your summer time photo ops!
I never seem to have enough thank you notes on hand so I finished off the inside with the Artfully Sent Cricut Compatible stamp set frames and sentiment. The Canary and Smoothie work so well together…just like Pink Lemonade!
Thanks for stopping by today, I hope I’ve inspired you to create when life gives you lemons! What’s your favorite summertime drink?
I woke up to a cold, windy, rainy day in the great Pacific Northwest and I figured I was overdue for a day in the craft room!
One of my 2014 resolutions was to take more time for me so I took today to get ready for my Sunday Card Cafe!
Besides Pinterest, I follow a number of Close to My Heart Consultants Blogs that inspire my artwork. The first two cards were inspired by sister consultants, yet I put my own spin on them to make them mine!
My third card was inspired by the Close to My Heart Designers and taken nearly exactly from the pages of the Idea Book.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my art and will take time to create some of your own!
I’m so excited that August 1st brings a brand new idea book and catalog and that I absolutely have so many favorites to choose from already! Last week I attended a team meeting where I got to see much of the new product – one of the perks of being a consultant is we get a full one month preview period before each idea book launches. Our consultant kit is priced at a reasonable $49 so if you’d like that same perk, just message me and I’ll get you all signed up!
One of the new papers is called Babycakes and it is an adorable set of neutral papers! I LOVE it and see tons of opportunity for uses other than “baby”.
See what I mean…who would think “baby” when they saw this card?
Two other brand new products used on this card are the new mini-stamps (watch for my special in August) and the scalloped border punch.
I recently joined a card swap and needed an idea fast so I started looking through old competitors catalogs and ran across a similar card and thought I have all the things to put this together. I don’t know that it’s fabulous, but it is a fun Hello to jot a note to a friend and created with just cardstock, a few stamps and some ink!
Our dreary PNW weather had me grabbing some colors from the Adventure color palette. I started with a base of Honey cut to 4 X 8 so I could finish with a 4 X 4 card and stamped it with a tone on tone swirl from the Love Life stamp set. I then layered a Cricut flower in Gypsy with a center of white daisy stamped with Pear ink from the Diverse Background set and layered a second flower in Hollyhock from the Hooray Bouquet set. I popped a button in the middle with a mini tag stamped with Hello from the A Bowwow set which is my new favorite set.
Well, I need to get busy finishing up my contributions for the 1,2,3 Craft! blog hop which is coming up on the 15th…stay tuned!
