Happy Friday and welcome to another week of the Color My Heart Color Dare. This week we are featuring the colors: Bashful, Glacier and Mink
This color combination screamed baby to me so I have a baby card for my stash. I love the Baby Animals Stamp set – not only the cute animals but a funny sentiment too! I layered the Baby Panda on a stitched circle, I love how they layer with the Basic Circles dies.
OK, now it’s YOUR turn! The full details on how to join the fun is in the sidebar of our homepage. Each color dare is open until 9:00 CDT on Thursday!
While at the homepage – check out what the other design team members have created and leave them a little love (comments make our day)!
I bet I’m like a lot of you…partial paper packs that are long retired and stamp sets you love too much to part with, because you just MIGHT need them. Well, I’ve decided that these things need to go…after all, I don’t think my Wrangler Wearing Sweetheart is going to put an addition on the Craft Coop anytime soon. Oh no, I’m not going to part with them…I’m going to use them!
Welcome to my Throwback Thursday! Each Thursday I’m going to feature a card using retired product in a new way.
I’m starting with the Babycakes Paper & Wild Wonders stamp set…this paper was a favorite in it’s non-traditional baby colors and because it paired so well with Kraft Cardstock. Using a cut from the Cricut Artbooking cartridge (giraffe) in Chocolate (also retired) and Canary brought the whimsy of this card to life. A tag tucked in exclaiming “it’s about to get wild around here” is a good warning to parents expecting a new baby boy!
Do you have some of this paper in your stash? I’d love to see you pull it out and make something new. Leave me a comment with the link to your post using either Baby Cakes Paper or the Wild Wonders stamp set and I’ll come take a peek.
If you enjoy this new TBT feature and would like to see a particular paper or stamp set used for inspiration leave me a comment too!
Thanks for stopping by…I hope this will help you bust your stash too!
Sometimes when a friend is clear across the country it’s like you lost your balloon. This 3.5 X 8 card size is not one that I make frequently, but I wanted the balloon to be floating away and just the size of the elephant made that impossible on a smaller card.
Are you in love with this baby elephant stamp from the Sweet Baby stamp set as much as I am? I can see it being used for lots of cards and since it has a matching thin cuts die it makes it that much more special.
I hope you’ll take a minute and leave a comment on my blog. I love reading your messages, they really encourage me to keep creating!
I didn’t think the Punny Pals stamp set could get any cuter, but with the new matching thin cuts in the October Share A Smile card they are 13 times cuter! That’s one thin cut for each cute little critter!
My card is 4X4 and I first cut a circle before running it through the Alphabet Embossing folder. I added a piece of B&T behind the circle cut out and then popped up the front panel with 3D Foam tape. I added my die cut and colored animals with some Thin 3D Foam tape. I think this would make a perfect baby card, birthday card or just a happy hello to share a smile.
Don’t miss out on the Share a Smile card kit…it’s just $39.95 while supplies last.

Yesterday a friend called me and said “have any baby cards?” I didn’t have any pre-made, but knew I had time to whip one out so my answer was “sure, boy or girl”.
I am so in love with this Sweet Baby stamp set, but I didn’t want to do the typical pastel blues. I reached for the new Adventure Fundamental with their water-colored wash it tones down the bright vibrant colors. I stamped each of the balloons in a different color Glacier, Lagoon & Emerald and used the thin cuts (yeah no fussy cutting) to layer them in a bunch. I then stamped the string directly to the front of the card. My baby elephant was stamped on a piece of B&T from the Basic Fundamentals. Have I ever mentioned how much I love those papers?
Thanks for stopping by today! Don’t forget that the Color My Heart Color Dare challenge this week is to use your blues – follow the link for all the details and to link up your card.
Did you guess that my card would have this cute little Daschund wearing a sweater? It’s fall in the PNW which means it’s sweater weather and well I just couldn’t resist making this cute card from the Baby Animals stamp set.
I actually used this stamp set as intended this time to welcome a sweet little one to the world. Like I mentioned in a post earlier this week I am working my way thru my ever growing stash of paper packets – sometimes I think I’m just afraid for them to go away altogether because there aren’t many scraps to choose from. I was in love from the get go with the Little Dreamer papers – they were just magical. I’m sure it was from my childhood of loving and collecting unicorns, but I digress.
I chose to add an embossed panel using the Alphabet Embossing Folder. I love the texture that it adds to the card and every baby needs to know it’s ABC’s. The panel behind the stamped image is a PML card that has been cut to size. Don’t discount the cute factor of the pocket scrapbooking cards that come in our paper packets for cards.
Even if you aren’t welcoming a new baby – these animals are so cute and the party hat just lends itself to a birthday or congratulations theme.
I hope you’ll take a minute to leave me a comment – whether it’s long or short I’m sure to appreciate it.
The new Close to My Heart Annual Inspirations went live yesterday and I didn't have time to craft, but I did have this little Sweet Baby card all made ahead of time.
This card also features the Color of the Year -Bashful! This soft pink is going to be so fun to create with and blends so nicely with our new neutral palette.
When you place a $25 order this month you'll find a brand new AI in your bag.
Thanks for stopping by.
I love this sweet baby elephant…I’ve used it for several cards since the Flower Market cartridge was released last year, but this by far is my favorite! I think it might be because it’s all BLUE!!!
I reached for my Whimsy Fundamentals and grabbed the Glacier and Crystal Blue papers and ribbon to put together this layered collage card from the Wishes How To Book. I like all the patterns giving the card lots of texture.
The Fundamentals papers are so versatile without a specific theme they are a great addition to your card making supplies and come in our Whimsy, Adventure & Enchantment color palettes.
Thanks for stopping by…I hope you’ll take a minute and leave me a comment about your favorite Fundamentals collection.
Here I am as promised with another card using the April Stamp of the month Flock Together. Didn’t I tell you this stamp set was perfect for a baby card?
I really like the Whimsy Fundamentals line especially the page of brush stroked love 🙂 I then layered a little Gold Glitter Paper and Pixie cardstock to hold my image. The birds were stamped in Whisper and Pixie to represent grandma & baby.
I’ll be back next week for some more ideas for this stamp set, but in the meantime you better get yours ordered before it’s not available.
Thanks for stopping by!
