Wild & Punny

What do you do when the Close to My Heart Seasonal Expressions 2 is getting ready to retire. You make sure that everyone has checked, double checked and triple checked the list to get their favorite items and then you start creating with your favorite items.

One of my favorite stamp sets was Wild & Punny. This sassy stamp set was full of cute animals, wild puns & also had thin cuts to match.

I picked five of my favorite patterns from Make It From Your Heart Vol 4 and decided to feature some retiring papers and one of each of the animals.

I really had fun making this set of cards and although I will miss the papers & Colors these stamps are so versatile you’re sure to see them around for a long time.

Do you have a favorite? I’m a little partial to the flamingo & the cow. If you haven’t purchased this set yet you can click here to be directed to my webpage and get it added to your shopping cart.

Featured in the Coop

If you were at Cards in the Coop this month you already know that I’m super excited to introduce a new monthly special that I think you’re going to love!

I’m calling it Featured in the Coop – this is a special offered directly by me as an incentive when you purchase a specific stamp set each month.  You’ll see me use the stamp set in various projects throughout the month and when you add it to your order (or purchase it directly from my business page) you’ll receive a kit to recreate two featured cards.

During the month of September, Boutique-Card Making item #C1726 is my Featured In the Coop stamp set.  This set of 13 is such an inspirational set and has some fun decorative stamps as well.

These are the cards that you’ll be able to make using the card kits you’ll receive from me.

You will need the following supplies to complete these cards as shown:

One 6×6 Can Do Wonders

One Sheet Wonders have been around for a long time.  You can find a healthy dose of them on Pinterest, but when I saw this pattern designed by a Canadian Consultant I knew I needed to purchase it – the fact that it worked out to only be $2.37 with the exchange rate was a bonus!

That’s right…all these cards came from one 6X6 piece of patterned paper.  I actually could have got 5 out of the pattern, but I was using a sampler that had a hole punched in the corner – I’m happy with my 4 cards though.

These papers are from the new Boutique line and the Stamp set is from the Workshops Your Way Hugs for You Cardmaking Kit.  These card kits are an amazing value you get everything to make 12 cards (6 each of two designs) including an exclusive stamp set.  You can find the card kit here on my website.  If you’re not sure about having 6 cards all alike I’m offering a Card Kit Club – we meet quarterly and you can find that information on my Facebook Page under events.

Highlight Reel – July SOTM

Every once in a while a Stamp of the Month comes around and I wonder “what in the world am I going to do with that” I mean really?  July’s Stamp of the Month, Highlight Reel, seemed perfect for scrapbooking, but making a card?!

So after sitting at staring at it surrounded by talented friends in the Craft Coop and kind of talking it through I got to work.

Today I’m sharing the collection of cards that I received through my Stamp of the Month Swap.  8 cards of inspiration and very valid reasons to purchase July’s Stamp of the Month.

One Pattern Four Ways

It’s no secret I’m crazy in love with the Make It From Your Heart pattern books and Volume 4 is no exception.  I reach for these books every time I need a little inspiration and a good pattern!

When you use one of the patterns you can simply rotate it 90 degrees in either direction and come up with a total of 4 magnificent patterns!

Each of my cards is made with the same pattern and papers from the Beautiful Friendship but they all have such a different look.

I appreciate you stopping by – I hope you’ll consider trying one of the Make It From Your Heart patterns on your next card making adventure.

Scraps, Scraps, Scraps!

The You Are More cardmaking workshop was so much fun to put together (ok cutting the little squares not so much) but the rest of it was well worth it and look at the scraps I have left over to create with.

That’s right – after creating 12 cards (6 each of 2 designs) I have enough scraps left over to complete some additional projects and there are embellishments left too!

If you are new to card making I’d suggest picking up one of our workshop kits to assemble.  There are four great choices in the Seasonal Expression.  You can also find the kits online here.

Thanks for stopping by.  Make sure your subscribed to my blog so that you don’t miss what I make with these scraps!

Falling For You

img_7439

Last week I mentioned that you could use the PML (Picture My Life) cards for so much more than just pocket scrapbooking.  Not only are they perfect for traditional scrapbooking, but they make great focal points on your cards.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Just by adding some B&T papers, banners, ribbon, twine a few bronze sequins you can transform the PML cards into some beautiful cards.  Although I used all the Falling For You PML cards as focus points on these cards you can cut them down and use them in whatever pattern you’d like.  I’ll post some additional ideas for using them later this week.

Remember to experiment with your papers and put every last square inch to use.  I appreciate you taking the time to stop by today, I hope you’ll tell me what your favorite paper pack and PML card set is and how you used them.
