I’ve been crazy busy playing catch up…hubby took me out of town for a couple of days and I really just wanted to be playing in some really fun blog hop challenges.
My friend Sue talked me into playing in the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop – it’s full of amazing art so grab a cuppa joe and visit all the fun entrants.
Last Saturday when I was hanging out with my CTMH peeps I found this cool map paper at the local stamp store and then on another rack around the corner I found the coffee cup brad. Perfect for this Starbucks loving girl. I used a sentiment from Close to My Heart that has since retired, but still worked well.
Thanks for stopping by…I promise to post a few more things over the weekend.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
I wanted to let you in on a little of what happened in my life preparing for Valentine’s Day!
This is my grandma’s rolling pin, it’s been missing a handle for as long as I can remember. I think it makes my hubby a little nervous that someday it might come up missing both handles. I combined it with my mom’s sugar cookie recipe to spread a little love. I took some to two of the guys my hubby has coffee with daily – one’s a widow and one’s single! I’m pretty sure they liked them. I also took a couple to my son along with 3 dozen chocolate chip cookies to share with his work buddies. They were definitely a hit!
This is the Valentine that I made for my son…it’s a quick 3X3 using the Emojis set. Super cute in my opinion with the fundamentals heart paper perfect for someone that cares much more about the cookies than the card 🙂 I get it!
This card for my boss is stamped using a retired stamp set. I even think she’ll like the punny Valentine wish.
This card is going to my sweet co-worker. She is definitely the sprinkles on my ice-cream! I topped the cute cone with some of the coordinating Sugar Rush Dots, you can barely see them in the photo. That little row of hearts at the bottom of the white panel is the Sugar Rush Washi tape…sweet huh? LOVE this Sugar Rush paper, I’m on my second pack already!!!
One of my favorite things about card making is being able to customize my cards. This last Valentine is going to my sweetheart. He is the best Valentine a girl could ask for. If you see me in person ask about our first Valentine’s Day Date – I knew up front what I was cut out for and decided he was a KEEPER!!! This stamp set is from My Favorite Things a new to me company (like I needed another stamp company in my life). I fell in love with this girl and her dog and knew I needed to get it to make my Valentine card for him. The papers are from the Close to My Heart Fundamental line mixed with a little black cardstock, everything was colored with the Shin Han markers. I hid it on his dash board so he found it on his way to work this morning. LOVE that guy!
I just got notice that Close to My Heart is having a surprise SWEET SALE this afternoon – it’s start at 2:00 PST so hop on my OBA and see what you can find. This is one of those cards that you really don’t want to make, but in some little way helps your heart heal.
Yesterday we said goodbye to my husband’s best friend for the past 17 years. It was a really hard day – I wasn’t much of a dog person when we met – I had 4 cats, but soon his Sasha had my heart wrapped up.
I wanted to use the “LOVE” paper from the Whimsy Fundamentals packet and I also picked the yummy-colored Sorbet B&T as well. I stamped the little puppy from the retired Friendly Pets stamp set and colored her to look like our girl.
Thanks for stopping by and sharing a part of your day with me.
I used to have a fondness for stuffed animals and I had a stuffed cat made from a beautiful Chintz fabric so when I saw the August Stamp of the Month “Purr-fect Halloween” I knew I wanted to make a cat using the floral pattern from Florence.
This itty-bitty card is just 2.5 X 3.5 – the perfect size for sticking in a briefcase or backpack to be found as an added pick me up during the day. The Florence papers in the background just give a subtle amount of texture.
Make sure that you are following my blog for some more fun artwork with the August Stamp of the Month.
Actually there’s a bunch of new colors most of which appear in the newly redesigned Adventure Color Palette, but the color I’d like to introduce to you today is Seaglass!
Seaglass is is an exclusive new Color of the Year. This beautiful new minty hue will only be available for one year so make sure you get it in all forms, stamp pad, re-inker, cardstock and my all time favorite GLITTER PAPER!!!
This card also features papers and complements from the new Basic Fundamentals line and a brand new Thin Cut, you’re going to LOVE the new Annual Expressions and all it’s goodness.
If you’ll be at my catalog launch Saturday between 1-3 you’ll get to see this pretty color in person. Of course you’ll see some other great new Close to My Heart products too. If you’d like a sneak peek at the new products visit my website at http://www.papercraftingprincess.closetomyheart.com.
Thanks for stopping by!
My husband is my one in a melon! As of yesterday we have been married six funtabulous years! My hope is that he knows how much I love him and everything he does for me.
This fun card features papers from the Calypso paper packet. That strip of words is actually a zip strip. Do you use them on your cards? I think they are just the right pick me up AND you don’t have to cut a half inch strip off your beautiful 12X12 sheets! I try to incorporate them often.
Both the One in A Melon stamp set and the Calypso paper packet will be retiring at the end of August so make sure you get them on your next order. There is a big list of items retiring at the end of July so make sure you double check your wish list and get them ordered before they are gone. If you don’t have a consultant I’d love to be yours. You can find me on facebook, leave me a message here (include how to reach you) or place an order on my consultant website.
Would you like to see a list of shopping items that I use to make my card with a link to order them? Thanks for stopping by…see you soon!

Do you know someone that’s been a little crabby lately? Maybe you should brighten their day with a card!
My friend, Debi, had this Beach Days (D1684) stamp set and I just HAD to borrow it for this card. I love the beach and the Regatta Workshops Your Way (G1105) will get you all the paper and embellishments to make this card and MORE! There are several things I LOVE about this card…first it has a ton of texture from the confetti embossing folder used on the white panel (which reminds me of bubbles) to the pennants and complement at the base of the tag. Did you notice the zip strip? I love incorporating them for a little surprise.
What could you use the Regatta papers for?
Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! We will be featuring April’s SOTM, which is Life In Pictures, a set of 13 stamps. If you have come here from my friend Darlys’ Blog, you are on the right path! If you started here, the blog hop is a great big circle so you can start here and work your way all around. If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants on Melinda’s Blog: http://ifyoublingit.blogspot.com/p/stamp-of-month-blog-hop-list.html.
This month we have over 20 Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using this month’s SOTM and other great CTMH products on their blogs. Blog Hopping is simple to do – just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one! Here we go!
I’ve been meeting with some sister consultants monthly to create with the Stamp of the Month. The inspiration and challenge they bring to push me to another level is so much fun. My buddy Darlys (mentioned above) is one of those consultants!
When I saw the camera stamps I immediately thought film strip – my first passion in life is photography and I spent many years developing my own film and printing the pictures. Now I just take them…100’s of them every month, but I digress. Back to my card…I couldn’t help including the Operation Smile promotional stamp set Animal Greetings. I kept them simple stamping in black to preserve the look of a negative. I finished off my card simply with a purple glitter heart from the Enamel and Glitter Duos Purple Hearts.
Now “Hop” on over to Michelle’s Blog to see her work! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their Blogs to get some great crafting ideas and other fun ideas! Remember, the April SOTM is only available until the last day of the month! Contact your CTMH Consultant (or click here) to see how you can get this stamp set at a discount
