I was recently asked how I decided to pick the stamp sets for my Featured in the Coop series. The real answer is it has to be a stamp set that I LOVE and am willing to create with regularly and that I think has potential for being overlooked in the Holiday Expressions. Of course the cuteness of Hedge Hugs factored into my decision making this month. Seriously – how can you resist?
This card doesn’t feature a sentiment, just this cute little guy beckoning you to open the Gate Fold Card. I used two of my favorite papers from the Grateful Heart paper packet. The scalloped circle is only attached on one side of the panel and the pomegranate burlap ribbon holds the entire card closed. I colored his little body with markers, but I’ve learned a fun technique that I’m going to share next week.
Don’t forget when you purchase the Hedge Hugs stamp set from me I will include a kit to make two cards featuring this little guy.
If you’d like to suggest a stamp set for “Featured in the Coop” leave it in the comment section here and I’ll see what I can arrange.
Wake up – feed a calf – drink coffee – create…that was my agenda today and I had my favorite niece to keep me company so we accomplished lots in the Craft-Coop – she even swept the floor!!!
Before she came I knew I wanted to steal a few minutes to make a card for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I always look at their sketch on Monday morning – I don’t always participate, but sometimes I just can’t resist the urge!
Michelle’s sketches are always top-notch and I love that she adds things like little banners and most of them also include where to place the sentiment.
I grabbed the Hello Pumpkin Papers & Cardmaking Stamp Set to line up a row of jack-o-lanterns. Since I didn’t have a solid color background I added an additional banner with my Hello Pumpkin sentiment.
I encourage you to take a look at some of the fabulous challenge blogs when you are looking for some inspiration. Whether it’s a color challenge, a sketch challenge or theme challenge there’s something out there to get your mojo flowing!
I am so excited for you to see the new Close to My Heart Holiday Expressions Catalog I’m finding it hard to wait the 7 days or so until September 1st!
You’ll notice a few changes with this new Idea Book – besides the new products! It’s bigger and better than ever because we are going to have a new catalog every quarter and have done away with the two idea books – no more wondering “is that in the big catalog or that little one?”
If you have yet to sign up for my Color Club this is the perfect time to do it. We’ll be kicking it off in September with the brand new Color of the Year! If you have any questions be sure to e-mail or give me a call.
One other fun thing that will be happening with this idea book is a chance to earn free card kits from me. I will pick a new stamp set each month (not the stamp of the month) to be my featured set. You’ll see me use it in various projects throughout the month and on two featured cards. When you choose to add my featured stamp set to your order you will receive the items to recreate those cards. Of course you’ll need to supply the card bases and inks for stamping, but this should be a fun way to get those new stamps inky right when you get them! You’ll hear more about this program when you attend “Cards in the Coop” on September 6th or you can e-mail me at email@example.com for more information.
I’m looking forward to sharing many fun times…you can find my events listed on my Facebook Page or you can e-mail me with the subject line “What’s Happening in the Coop” and I’ll send you a list of current scheduled events.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoy your sneak peek at Boutique.
Every good tourist should have a camera and the Magical paper pack gives you a B&T paper that is filled with choices! My friend Debi G and I had a productive day in the Coop Monday and we put together this cute camera that we saw on Instagram by Aaron Brown (another CTMH Consultant).
What’s special about this card? It’s got a sneak peak of a brand new color Candy Apple! I love that we finally have a true red in our color palette, the fact that it works so well with Lagoon is just an added bonus.
I thought I had a pretty colorful little Instax camera – since mine is just white it was fun to dream a little.
I’m linking up with the Three Amigo’s Blast From the Past – using their Challenge #10 Anything Goes! They are a fun group of ladies…not quite as fun as Double Trouble, but close!
I hope you’ll consider purchasing the Magical paper packet while it’s on special thru September 30th. It is such a fun, colorful paper good for so much more than just amusement park scrapbooking.
I’m sure you’ve heard the news that July is Stampaganza at Close to My Heart…buy two stamp sets get the third for free and that the SOLO Alphabet & Numbers stamp sets have been brought out of retirement for this special sale.
These stamps have long been a favorite and I’ve kicked myself time and time again that I didn’t buy the entire set when it was available. You can be sure I’m not going to let that opportunity pass me by this time. Each letter has a large bold and small sized lower case along with coordinating words that start with that letter and some fun shapes to play with too. Each number features both a large bold and small sized number along with the number in word form and words and images to match.
I gave some new life to the Solo T today pairing it with the soft colors from Central park. Don’t you just love that pop of Willow combined with the soft colors of Bashful & Glacier? This is one of my favorite patterns from Make It From Your Heart Volume 4, but I added a stitched circle & a banner to dress it up. A few sparkles adorn the letter to finish off the card.
The Solo stamps are perfect for both card making and scrapbooking – how cute would a baby album featuring month by month pictures be or even a big bold letter with someone’s name next to their picture.
Both the Solos Alphabet and Solo Numbers are available in a money saving bundle of 40% OFF the retail price, but they are only available through the month of July so make sure to get yours ordered today from my web-page http://www.papercraftingprincess.ctmh.com
There’s a new blog challenge in town and I’m super excited that I was asked to be on the Design Team from the very beginning.
Double Trouble was founded by my stamping friends Sue and Melanie and well you know me, where Trouble leads I follow!!! We are really TWO challenges in one – an opportunity to do a simple challenge & the Double Dare to link up to an additional challenge with the same card, every once in a while I’ll pop in with a special “TWIST”.
Our Thing One challenge this week is to add two or more patterned papers to your project and our Double Dare is to link to the Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.
My card features papers from Close to My Heart’s Beautiful Friendship collection and a retired stamp set Treats of Friendship also from Close to My Heart. I chose a small print for my all over background and a larger print (the teapots & cups) for my second piece. It’s good to combine sizes of prints so that they don’t compete with one another. I kept my stamping simple – just a teacup which I colored with Copic Markers and then I stamped my sentiment in Sapphire Ink and tucked the tag under my gray ribbon. I added a couple of pearls for a simple accent.
I hope you’ll head over to the Double Trouble Blog to learn more about our challenges. If you’re new around these parts I hope you’ll click the Follow Button where you can get updated each time I post.
Thanks for stopping by!
It’s Friday…time for another Color Dare!
This week the Color My Heart Color Dare Design Team is creating with the colors: Sapphire, Smoothie, Heather and Gold if desired.
I used papers from the new Beautiful Friendship paper packet paired with the stamp set from the Festive Birthday card kit and a pattern from Make It From Your Heart 4.
I hope you’ll take some time to create with us you can click HERE for the details of the Color My Heart Color Dare.
Thanks for stopping by my blog – if you like what you see make sure to leave me a little love.
