It’s Friday…time for another Color Dare!
This week the Color My Heart Color Dare Design Team is creating with the colors: Canary, Sapphire & Silver.
You might feel a theme happening with my Color Dare Challenges this month. I really love the Festive Birthday stamp set and I can NEVER have enough birthday cards. It’s been fun challenging myself to use the same stamp set but in totally different ways.
I hope you’ll take some time to create with us at the Color My Heart Color Dare , you can click HERE for the details of the Color My Heart Color Dare.
Thanks so much for stopping by…I hope you enjoyed my artwork and that you’ll take a minute to visit the other Design Team Members Blogs too!
It’s Friday…time for another Color Dare!
This week the Color My Heart Color Dare Design Team is creating with the colors: Bashful, Canary, & Linen.
Once again I used a pattern from Make It From Your Heart 4. If you don’t have this little gem of a book – you need to get it ordered. I also thought this sweet cupcake from the Festive Birthday card kit needed to find it’s way onto this card. What’s a birthday without some banners and sparkles?

My question today is: Do you think outside the box and use your card kit stamps for other than how they are packaged?
Thanks so much for stopping by…I hope you enjoyed my artwork.
One of my favorite things to do is surprise someone with a homemade birthday card, what’s even more fun is when you send them an entire party in a box!
I made this cute box card using cuts from the Cricut so although it’s full of details it didn’t take much time. In my humble opinion there are no better colors for a birthday than the Adventure color family.
I reached for solid cardstock and fun patterns from the Fundamentals Paper Collection to complete my card. With 24 12X12 sheets (2 each of 12 designs) you have plenty to choose from to make completing cohesive projects easier than ever before. Priced at just $19.95 they are a terrific basic for your scrapbooking or card-making needs. They also have matching complements and ribbon – woohoo!
If you’d like to learn more about the fundamental line please let me know the patterns are so much fun to play with.
Thanks for stopping by…I look forward to hearing your comments on this card.
Welcome to the Joyful Stars March Blog Hop! If you’ve arrived here from Nickie Hoffer’s Blog you are on the right path, if you’re starting here that’s fine too, we are a circular hop so if you keep clicking the links at the bottom of each post you’ll work your way right back to where you started.
Have you heard the news that the Close to My Heart has all of the Thin Cuts on sale this month? You can learn more by clicking here, but make sure you come back and finish the hop!
My card this month features the fun papers of the Sugar Rush paper packet with a few twists and the Sweet Birthday stamp set and thin cuts. See that hatch style print B&T under the cupcake – it’s actually a Picture My Life Card from the Sugar Rush papers. The cupcake is also cut from a PML card – you can’t see it really well in the photo but it’s an ombre pink near the edge of the frosting and I then colored in the wrapper with my Shin Han Touch Twin marker. The hat and candle were stamped and then cut using the thin cuts.
I love our thin cuts – fussy cutting is not in my vocabulary – I will avoid it at all expense either using my Cricut cartridges, thin cuts or just not cutting something out.
If you don’t have a consultant I’d love it if you’d choose me – not local that’s ok too! I host a mystery hostess party each month on my business page – if you order you’re entered for a chance to be the hostess for that month.
Leave me a comment about your favorite Cupcakes Close to My Heart product and then hop on over to Krista’s Crafty Corner.
As a kid I remember all the fun designs that I could make with a Kaleidoscope, as an adult I still can’t pass one up if I see it in a toy store. The way the colors fall in to place has always fascinated me so you can imagine my joy when Close to My Heart released a paper called Kaleidoscope.
When I first saw this paper I fell in love with the multi-color jelly bean page – I can see so many uses for it including a perfect topping for a cupcake!
This cupcake card is from the Artfully Sent Cricut Cartridge and I lined it with papers from Kaleidoscope. When I folded it I didn’t get it lined up quite right so instead of cutting off the excess I lined it with some green shimmer trim. I’m particular with the insides of my cards so I lined it with some white cardstock so the pieces of B&T don’t show. A few silver sequins and I have a card all ready to go in the mail!
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you’ll leave me a comment including your favorite toy that has followed you into adulthood!
Here’s a few more of my weekend card craziness! I love brightening mailboxes and who couldn’t use a little love? These two mini cards pack a big ‘pun’ch! They measure just 4 1/2 X 4 1/2 (I love square cards).
Both cards were stamped using the retired “Pun Fun” stamp set which reminds me of the goofy sayings that came on Valentines when I was a kid instead of the Barbie, Sponge Bob and Disney Princess of today.
For my first card, I started by running Lagoon cardstock through my Big Shot with the Heart Embossing Folder. One of the greatest things about our white core cardstock is that you can sand it and get just a touch of a distressed look. To finish I added a strip of Heartstrings B & T and a square of Cranberry to mount my image which I had colored with the ShinHan markers. The Aqua Dots seemed like a simple accent to give it a little bling.
My second card was made with the retired Lollydoodle papers (have I ever mentioned that I have a paper hording problem?) and instead of hearts I used the Dots Embossing Folder to match the dots of the paper. I once again colored the image with the ShinHan markers and topped the cupcake with a sprinkle of Red & Pink Sparkles (retired).
The inside of both cards was finished with one of my favorite stamp sets Doodled Designs which is perfect to enhance one of our M-sized stamps.
Thank you for stopping by…I hope it’s encouraged you to think outside the box when it comes to Valentines!
