Wake up – feed a calf – drink coffee – create…that was my agenda today and I had my favorite niece to keep me company so we accomplished lots in the Craft-Coop – she even swept the floor!!!
Before she came I knew I wanted to steal a few minutes to make a card for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I always look at their sketch on Monday morning – I don’t always participate, but sometimes I just can’t resist the urge!
Michelle’s sketches are always top-notch and I love that she adds things like little banners and most of them also include where to place the sentiment.
I grabbed the Hello Pumpkin Papers & Cardmaking Stamp Set to line up a row of jack-o-lanterns. Since I didn’t have a solid color background I added an additional banner with my Hello Pumpkin sentiment.
I encourage you to take a look at some of the fabulous challenge blogs when you are looking for some inspiration. Whether it’s a color challenge, a sketch challenge or theme challenge there’s something out there to get your mojo flowing!
Want to invite a friend to coffee or just send them a note to say hello?
This fun-shaped coffee cup card cut on the Cricut with the Artiste cartridge will bring a smile to all coffee lover faces.
A Sapphire base with a band made from the Grateful Heart B&T Papers will deliver a cheery fall feel to a mailbox near you!
im linking up to the Three Anigos Fun Fold Cards Challenge…today’s the last day, but it’s early so come play along!
I’m grateful for time to make cards, for practicing with my watercolors and YOU!
It’s Friday…time for another Color Dare! Have you participated in one of our challenges? They aren’t hard at all…you have the freedom to create anything you’d like, card, scrapbook layout, home decor item – the only requirement is that you use our Color Challenge and this week you can’t get any prettier choice than the colors of the Falling for You Paper Packet from Close to My Heart.
Seeing such a huge Color Palette might seem a little daunting but we are only requiring you to use the colors Saffron, Goldrush and Fern and then you get to pick your own neutral using one, two, three, four or all of the neutrals in the Falling for You Color Pack (Nutmeg, Charcoal, Almond, Toffee, Pewter, Espresso and Linen) You can also use White Daisy.
I am in full fall mode and I have sunflowers by my back door so that was the inspiration I took with my card. I used one of the focal pieces of B&T from the kit to tie in all the colors of our challenge. My large sunflower was cut using the Cricut Flower Market Cartridge and then popped up on the top panel of my card. Burlap Ribbon from the retired basics collection wraps around my card and then I popped up my sentiment on a scalloped circle from the Art Philosophy cartridge. I scattered a few Bronze Sequins to add a little bling.
OK, now it’s YOUR turn! The full details on how to join the fun is in the sidebar of our homepage. Remember each of our Color Dare Challenge is open for two weeks so you have until November 9th to get your project submitted.
While at the homepage – check out what the other design team members have created and leave them a little love (comments make our day)!
Last week I mentioned that you could use the PML (Picture My Life) cards for so much more than just pocket scrapbooking. Not only are they perfect for traditional scrapbooking, but they make great focal points on your cards.
Just by adding some B&T papers, banners, ribbon, twine a few bronze sequins you can transform the PML cards into some beautiful cards. Although I used all the Falling For You PML cards as focus points on these cards you can cut them down and use them in whatever pattern you’d like. I’ll post some additional ideas for using them later this week.
Remember to experiment with your papers and put every last square inch to use. I appreciate you taking the time to stop by today, I hope you’ll tell me what your favorite paper pack and PML card set is and how you used them.
Nothing basic about this circle card featured in October’s Just the Basics card class. I love shaped cards and the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge makes easy work of cutting them out.
I started with a Saffron card base and stamped the wreath in Memento Black Ink for use with my Shin Han markers. It’s difficult to see in the photo, but there is some Gold Shimmer Brush used on the feathers for a little sparkle. I finished off the card with some Gold Shimmer Trim and Gold Sparkle Gems.
I hope you’ll take a minute to leave me a comment and make sure you come back and visit again soon.
Have you visited the Three Amigos Blog Hop Challenge yet? I’m Guest Designing for the month of September so I’m here to hound you again! Get linked up people!!!
The Falling for You papers are so fun to work with now that the weather has turned a bit chilly – everything feels like leaves and pumpkins!
Seaglass was a tough act to follow but Close to My Heart’s Color of the Year Bashful has taken a front row on my craft desk. I’ve actually got tired of hopping up and getting it so I gave it along with the matching glitter paper a place of it’s own.
If you order during the month of September it’s likely you’ll find this card in your bag (or mailbox if you order directly from my webpage.) It’s one of my favorite sizes 4.75 X 3 – I can get 4 out of one sheet of cardstock. That rich yummy brown is Espresso one of the new additions to our recently redesigned basics palette. It’s difficult to see in the photo, but the arrow under the sentiment is stamped in Bashful – both of these stamps are from the September Stamp of the Month Feel So Blessed.
Do you like little cards? Leave me a comment and I’ll drop a card in the mail to you. Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and make sure you visit the Three Amigos Blog Hop.
