Craft With Heart

Today I want to introduce you to my niece Stephanie (some of you already know her from card class) – she’s a devoted wife, busy mom of two, works part time outside the home and also helps her husband with his new cabinet business (she’s a mean face frame maker), she is on the board of her kids basketball association, is an amazing home decorator and loves cardmaking & scrapbooking.  Did I mention she’s my niece (more like a daughter)?

Stephanie is also a brand new subscriber to Craft with Heart.  Craft with Heart is a brand new subscription program from Close to My Heart featuring Cut-Above Layout Kits.    Each layout kit comes ready to assemble with pre-cut paper pieces, die-cuts, stickers, Memory Protectors™ and instructions.

There are three options for the subscription program.  Stephanie chose the one year plan for the best discount – she’ll get four layout kits every 4 months along with 30 free prints from Persnickity Prints.

Stephanie received layouts for September, October, November & December.  The kits although they coordinate with current paper packets are not available other than through the subscription program.

Stephanie couldn’t wait to get started (look at that concentration)  She loves putting kits together because of the time saving and “no thought” factors.

Look at that smile as she puts the finishing touches on her completed layout – the entire layout took her less than an hour to complete.  She promises to share her completed layouts (with pictures) right here.

If you’d like to subscribe to Craft with Heart you can find more information on my webpage.  As an added bonus when you subscribe to Craft with Heart you’ll be invited to an exclusive Day in the Coop to assemble your kits.

I hope you’ll consider this new subscription program to keep your creativity flowing and preserve your memories.  Crafters of all ages and skill levels can create completed layouts for their photos and memories.

A Gift For Little One

During the month of April the adorable and time saving Cut Above layout kits are on sale at 50% off.  There are two kits to choose from Forever & Always and Little One.

I have a sweet friend having her first baby boy in a couple of weeks and I thought the Little One Kit would be the perfect addition to her baby gift and since I wanted to have first hand knowledge of how quick and easy they are to put together I set out for a little crafting fun on Saturday afternoon.

Each kit comes with:

  • Two 12″ × 12″ printed base pages
  • Die-cut paper pieces
  • Title and embellishment stickers
  • 12 coordinating pocket cards
  • Two 12″ × 12″ Memory Protectors™
  • Two pocket-style Memory Protectors™

From start to finish it took me 32 minutes to put assemble the two-page layout and insert the pocket cards in the memory protectors, that included opening the zip lock bag, reading the instructions and punching out all the Die Cut Papers.

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the stickers and die cuts and the cute factor is unbeatable.  I think I’ll pick up a few more while they are on sale so I have some cute gifts on hand.

Thanks for stopping by…I’ll see you soon.

Dreamin’ with Heart to Heart

I think this week I’ve made up for lost time in the Craft Coop.  I’ve managed to make cards and scrapbook memories.  Over at the Heart to Heart Challenge Blog the challenge is to Dream Big – although it’s left to interpretation I chose to use the Dreamin’ Big Scrapbook Workshop on the Go.

The fun thing about these scrapbook pages for me is that this trip is scrapbooked less than two weeks after it happened!  Now I will admit there was a little last minute push last night to get the photos on the pages before my class today because I wanted to show how fun the papers and layouts are.

The Dreamin’ Big Workshop had the perfect theme for our vacation “Adventure”.  I’ve been to a lot of places, but Arizona is one state that had escaped my radar.  We had a short 5 day trip that was jam-packed with activity including a Mariner’s Spring Training Game.

I know you’re going to say Baseball and Flowers and I’m going to say why not?  What I really hopes catch your attention is that zip strip with the words, explore, dream, discover, play, laugh.  We did all those things when we were in Arizona.

Thanks for stopping by I’ll be back tonight with more artwork for the Joyful Stars Blog Hop.  If you don’t want to miss any of my posts, why not click the follow button on the sidebar and you’ll get a notification each time I post something new.

Be Happy

This year I decided to participate in the One Little Word workshop by Ali Edwards.  I chose my 2017 word “BE” a verb meaning to exist or occur.  I took a few minutes today to create a quick scrapbook layout titled “Be Happy” because that is my main goal this year.

I loved the combination of Blossom, Raspberry and Lagoon that was used on this layout in the Annual Inspirations and decided that I would recreate it to record a couple of “Happy” memories.  The Adventure Fundamentals and Good Life Complements made quick work of this single page layout.

If you’ve been following me on Instagram you’ll already know that I have a new calf on the farm.  Unfortunately, Chip’s mom has no motherly instincts so I’ve been doing bottle feeding since Sunday.  Although it’s a sad situation it did make me happy and is something I won’t soon forget.

Thanks for stopping by!

A Magical Memory

I haven’t been so good at posting to my blog this month – a little holiday and a BIG family reunion kind of threw my schedule into a tizzy!  But I’m back today and sharing a layout I created for some Magical Memories.  I found a new Challenge Blog (Between the Folds) and the challenge this week is to use Magical papers.

As you know I’m a self proclaimed princess and a Disney fanatic!  My wildest dreams are to live in Cinderella’s castle at Disneyland, but since that’s probably not going to happen anytime soon I am going to settle by celebrating my 50th birthday next year at the Happiest Place on Earth and I’m getting a jump start on my scrapbook!  I have two packages of the Close to My Heart Magical Papers that should help me record all my Disney memories.  I LOVE these papers…I’ve used it for cards and scrapbook layouts!

The papers are so much more than just Disney – the bright colors are perfect for birthday celebrations along with a cheery hello to you card!  If you need a little inspiration pop over to Between the Folds their design team has done an amazing job!

Thanks for stopping by…I always appreciate and read every comment so if you like what you see…leave me some love!

Just Chillin’

My resolution in 2016 is to take control of the photos I take!  In my head, that means I better start scrapbooking more!  Most of my 1000’s of photos are taken on my iPhone and I wasn’t real sure how to get them from my phone to my computer to print them without a lengthy process until now!  I learned of a FREE app called FreePrints – there is a catch, they only print 4X6 photos free and only a total of 85 each month and there is a charge for shipping (which still works out less than what I’d pay for my photo processing at Costco) and it saves me a trip to the store!

So, here’s my first layout from our first activity in 2016!

Along with trying to scrapbook more photos means using up my extensive paper stash.  This retired Snowhaven paired with a pattern from the current La Vie En Rose made quick work of a pattern from the Cherish How To book.  I couldn’t resist including the “frustrated face” of my friend’s husband…she’s not a scrapbooker (gasp) and I seem to ALWAYS be sticking a camera in his face!  Now I need to add the journalling and get these pages into page protectors and into an album.

Thanks for stopping by – I hope I’ve inspired you to start getting your pictures scrapped.  If you’d like to get started join me on Tuesday from 10 – noon for two hours on uninterrupted scrapbooking at my BRING YOUR OWN PROJECT CLASS.  You MUST RSVP as space is limited.

I chose to use the Seaside Papers to create a layout of a fun weekend at Ocean Shores with my hubby.  The left page is copied directly from the Seaside WOTG, however I wanted to include more pictures on the left side of the page so I turned to the Make It From Your Heart Volume 1 and found layout 09 for my right hand page.  The banners carried over to tie the two pages together.  I was hoping that my photos would arrive from Studio J in time to post, but have no fear you can have a mental image of me on a pink moped until they arrive and I get the photos updated.

The May Stamp of the Month has such great accent pieces for a scrapbook pages.  I stamped the Enjoy the Moment in Pear ink, fussy cut it and tucked it behind the photo mat.  I also stamped the “date” in black on the pennant and then hand wrote in the date.  I can see this stamp getting lots of use.

Now “Hop” on over to the Paperheartist to see Tamytha’s fabulous work! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their Blogs to get some great crafting ideas and other fun ideas!

Remember, the May SOTM is only available until May 31st!  Contact your CTMH Consultant (or click here) to see how you can get this stamp set at a discount!

By the Seaside Studio J Style

As usual, I have way more pictures to scrapbook than I have time for.  I love that Studio J gives me the opportunity to make 12 X 12 scrapbook pages that combine perfectly with my traditional pages.  While I was getting ready to print pictures for my layouts I took some time to do a few digital layouts as well.

Last October, we took Jeremy and Brooke to Fort Casey on Whidbey Island for the first time.  It was fun to see the interaction between uncle and niece.

If you’d like to catch up your scrapbooks give me a call or drop me an e-mail, I’ve got lots of fun solutions for you!

Thanks for stopping by!

A Special 1st

I’m back again with another layout from the Album Retreat that I attended in October 2013.  I’m finally getting the pages put together and am loving how they are turning out.

When I first saw this page it spoke “school” to me, but I had other things in mind.

My ruler accent became an indicator for Miss H’s first birthday.  I’m going to recreate this layout for her sister’s first day of 4th grade that happened this past fall.  It just proves when you think outside the box there are all kinds of possibilities.

DSCN1819I couldn’t let the chance go by to not show a cute picture of this adorable little face covered in frosting.  What I really wish I had was a still shot of her other grandma also with a frosting covered face…oh well, the video will have to suffice.

Thanks for stopping by…just a few more layouts to do and I’ll be on to new things!

Still Scrappin’

I decided that I was actually going to finish these layouts before moving on to another project…it’s killing me since I have brand new things to play with from Seasonal Expressions 2.  I also have taxes to get to the CPA by Friday, lunch with my mother-in-law today and a mani/pedi tomorrow!

This first layout from the Album Retreat is probably one of my favorites.  The colors are pretty non-traditional Christmas colors.  I love the Just Chillin’ title which was cut from the Artbooking Cricut cartridge.  Miss H is the only child I know that has never been afraid of Santa and we always have perfect pictures from the big visit.

My final layout for today is a Real Life Story of Papa and Grandma taking a little girl for a week on the Oregon Coast and living to tell about it.  Seriously, it was an awesome trip and she was such a good traveler.  I love that this page will give me plenty of room to tell about it with it’s journalling area.

DSCN1816Thanks for stopping by today…I hope my glimpse of scrapbooking has inspired you to record some of your own memories.
