I love the Fancy Tag thin cuts…I not only use them for stand alone tags, but I add them to card fronts and yesterday I decided to make them into some Valentines!
These tag treat holders were not only fun to make they were so easy too. I measured my treat and then doubled and added about a half inch to my length of cardstock. I then folded it with a pleated bottom and then positioned my die cut so that the bottom would not cut. I decorated it with a cute Valentine stamp that was in my stash from last year and they are already to go in the mail to a sweet niece & nephew!
You can find the Fancy Tags Thin Cuts on my webpage by clicking here. I’m sure you won’t be sorry if you add them to your shopping cart.
I spent the morning in the Craft Coop creating some Valentines from the Heart Happy Workshop. This kit is amazing…you can make one 12X12 layout, two 12X12 single pages, ten cards and five tags and still have paper left over to do your own thing with. There is also an option to do a Heart Happy Everyday Life Album.
The first thing I noticed about this paper is that it is not all pink or red…it’s an amazing combination of both along with Sapphire and Mint. The papers are also not Valentine specific…the stripes and geometric designs are perfect for everyday. To be honest with you, I’ve got a second packet on it’s way to me because I’m in LOVE!
The stamp set is just as cute too! How fun to put a diagram of your heart on a card…puppies, tacos, icecream, YOU. Yes please! Again…perfect for an anniversary, a cheery hello or to send someone a pick me up – not just Valentines here either!
These cards came straight from the workshop and were so much fun to make. I hope you’ll consider adding this Workshop & Stamp set to your shopping cart…even if you don’t use them this year you can get a jump start on Valentine’s Day next year!
Welcome to This or That Tuesday! Through the month of February on my blog and social media pages I will post two photos using similar products and you can tell me which you prefer – This or That – in the comments.
There is no right or wrong answer, it’s truly just a way to get you to interact with me. It won’t always be artwork…sometimes it will be products, tools or techniques.
Today’s This or That is artwork (from the Close to My Heart Art Department) made with the I Heart Us Paper and Cardmaking Stamp Set.
I think it’s fun to see how the same papers can make two totally different cards. I’m always flipping and flopping papers in The Coop, our two sided papers provide twice the options for your card making.
Leave me a comment and let me know if you prefer This or That?
Have you heard the buzz? The Double Trouble Team has paired up with the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge for the next two weeks. Trouble Maker is tip-toeing thru the Tulip Bulbs…demanding that we give her flowers after this long cold winter. Twisted Sister is all a flutter after signing up for a Birds & Bees Class on Valentines Day and would like you to use something with wings or something “B”-related or the word Buzz or Bzzz on your project.
The Atlantic Hearts Team gave us permission to share both of their upcoming sketches a little early so make sure that you are visiting their page and linking to the correct sketch
For my first card I chose to use a soft color combination of Sugar Plum, Ballerina and Peach for my flowers and Sage leaves all on a Mink Background which I cut using the Thin Cut Decorative Border Die. I added a tiny little bee which I cut from the Cricut Flower Market Cartridge.
My second card is my least favorite to make…a sympathy card! I used a Wreath Builder template and stamped flowers in a circular pattern to form my wreath…I didn’t leave quite enough room to include my sentiment at the bottom, but I actually liked it better layered across the flowers. The Willow layer was embossed with a honeycomb embossing folder for my “BEE” requirement.
Don’t forget that Double Dare has provided you the links to Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenges over on our home page with the complete challenge information.
I hope you’ll take some time and join in the fun!
Happy Friday and welcome to another week of the Color My Heart Color Dare.
As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago the Color My Heart Color Dare is adding some fun new challenges including this week’s Valentine’s Mood Board. What inspiration can you pull from the above photo?
When I looked at the picture the first thing that I noticed was it wasn’t all pink & red. The main color I saw was Lagoon with touches of pink, red and if you look really close it looks like there is a little cup of blue berries and that is where I got the inspiration to use Sapphire.
Don’t you just love that Lagoon cross hatch pattern? It’s from the Seasonal Mix-in Paper Packet…I tell you – YOU have to add it to your next order! The stitched scallop and stitched heart are both cut from Ballerina and there’s a little pop of Candy Apple in the banner and sentiment. I think this will make a perfect Valentine for my Wrangler Wearing Sweetheart!
OK, now it’s YOUR turn! The full details on how to join the fun is in the sidebar of our homepage. Our Weekly Challenges are open for two weeks and you have until February 14th to enter Challenge #328
Make sure you check
out what the other design team members have created and leave them a little
love (just as you love comments on your artwork – we love yours too)!
I’m not sure where January went, but it seems like I didn’t write nearly enough good things about the January SOTM – even though I spent lots of time creating not everything made it to the blog. It seems as though Facebook and Instagram get the most attention from me – they are fast and easy!
I wanted to pop in today – the last day of January with a quick reminder that if you didn’t get the January Stamp of the Month Card Captions – you still have today to get it purchased!
Even though the title is Card Captions – it’s definitely more than that! I found these cute Valentine pens at the Dollar Store (I think there is 8 or 12 in the package) and I knew I had to figure out something cute to make with them.
This little post it note holder was so much fun to make and it comes with a place to hold that pen too! It’s really quite easy to make and even funner to decorate! I kept everything flat in case the recipient wants to carry it in her purse, but it would look totally great on a desk too! The papers are from the Heart Happy Special that will make all your Valentine making easy!
I hope you’ll consider popping over to my webpage to place an order…it would sure make my heart happy!
It’s time for more trouble…but this challenge we are reminding you to spread some peace, love and kindness as you create! It’s National Hugging Week – now that’s one that I can get after!
Trouble Maker says Love Is in the Air – create a project using something you’d find in the air – balloons, banners, sunshine, clouds, birds, etc.
Twisted sister says you can’t have love without a little sparkle – her optional challenge is to use some glitter, Nuvo drops, something metalic or anything sparkly & shiny!
My card features a Hot Air Balloon cut from the Cricut that I’ve touched with some Shimmer Brush for a little sparkle. I just happened to have the Hugs For You cardmaking kit stamp set sitting on my desk so guess what sentiment I used, LOL!
Don’t forget that Double Dare says if you meet the Sparkle & Shine elements that you can link your card to the Paper Girls here.
I hope you’ll come and play along…it’s a lot of work to coordinate these challenges and we love seeing your entries!
