I had a little play time in The Craft-Coop this week and decided it would be fun to revisit my old friend the Heart to Heart Challenge Blog. The greatest thing about H2H is that challenges are posted each Monday morning and are open until the last day of the month.
The first February Challenge is titled Favorite Recipe it’s open to interpretation so I chose to use my favorite recipe from Make It From Your Heart Vol 4.
We’ve had an unusual February in which we were blanketed with A LOT of snow. My card features a fun polar bear from the Got Snow hostess rewards set and papers from the I Heart Us paper packet. To keep things “cool” I added some silver shimmer trim along the edge and some bitty sparkles in the centers of the snowflakes. Would you like to add this set to your stamping collection – let’s chat about becoming a hostess!
The second challenge was I Heart Us – and the directions were to use either the I Heart Us paper packet or include pictures of people/things that we love.
I thought these papers from the I Heart Us Collection would make a cheery thank you card. The thin cut stitched hearts where a fun addition to fill in the sentiment section for my shortened sentiment. The “Thanks” also comes from the I Heart Us cardmaking stamp set.
The third challenge is Invitation Only – this may mean you create an invite, maybe you’ve been invited somewhere that needs a card for the occasion, or maybe you want to share a project inspired by an invitation only event.
I chose to create an invitation for an upcoming Scrapbook Day called Memories in the Making.
My card again uses I Heart Us Papers and a stamp set available to Consultants only. A piece of Mink Twine and Silver Glitter Gems keep my embellishments simple so the eye keeps drawn to the party details.
Now to get these linked over at Heart 2 Heart and check back with them on Monday for their final challenge of February maybe I can snag a perfect attendance badge for the month of February.
Thanks for stopping by…I always appreciate reading your comments so I hope you’ll take an extra minute to drop me a note.
I guess you can say I caught a bug…since becoming a part of the Double Trouble Design Team I’ve been exposed to Digi’s…digital stamps. You know what they don’t take up much space – except in the computer and some of them are awfully darn cute. One of our upcoming challenges uses Bugaboo digital images so I thought I’d go check them out and look what I found…a free image AND a new sketch challenge.
Stella seems to be the boss around Bugaboo…a huge attitude and kind of crass…she kind of reminds me of the lady that was so popular with Hallmark. I do have some friends that would enjoy her humor so I might be adding a few of her images to my collection. For now though I decided to play along with their sketch and picked up the Roly Poly Chef Pie for free.
I grabbed some bright colored papers from the I Heart Us paper packet and made quick use of the sketch. I cut the chef with the new Thin Cuts Rectangle Frame…I’ve learned that I need to stock some cardstock in the house so I can print the digi images on paper that the markers won’t bleed on, but I kept the coloring to a minimum and think it turned out OK. The sentiment is from the new Wordfetti stamp set from Close to My Heart. I love that they are a block sentiment with the letters standing out in white.
I hope that Stella likes my take on her sketch…maybe that pie will sweeten her up just a bit…
Do you believe in magic? Not just the magic that makes a rabbit pop from a hat, a unicorn frolicking in a field under a rainbow or a mermaid splashing along the seashore. Double Trouble has paired up with Use Your Stuff to bring you a little magic in Challenge #22.
Trouble Maker has come up with a fun Tic-Tac-Toe Board to get you started. Make sure you identify which row, column or diagonal you’re playing along with.
I decided to use the diagonal from Top Left to Bottom Right for my card. My magical image is a Mermaid from the retired Make Waves paper packet from Close to My Heart.
Join our fun Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge using colors from”I Heart Us” paper pack … first choose a row, column or diagonal and include choice in your post … and then feel free to use “only” additional Colors in the Board below. We use CTMH color names for reference; however, you are welcome to use any products as long as they are the closest match
Neutrals: White, Cream, Black, Gray, Kraft and Brown(s) are free to use unless otherwise specified in our board.
I chose to use the February Stamp of the month for my card…it’s a big bold stamp that works well for the Spotlight technique. I stamped the image in black twice and figured out what part I wanted to highlight I then cut that image from one of my images colored it and added it to a Mint stitched circle. A Black Glitter Paper Scalloped banner finished off the card.
OK, now it’s YOUR turn! The full details on how to join the fun is in the sidebar of our homepage. Our Weekly Challenges are open for two weeks and you have until Thursday, February 28th to enter Challenge #330
Make sure you check
out what the other design team members have created and leave them a little
love (just as you love comments on your artwork – we love yours too)!
I put this card together with the scraps I had left over from the Heart Happy Workshop papers. It’s also a card that we’ll be making in my card class today (rescheduled from the snow storm last week)
Although this card is intended to be a Valentine, it could be an anniversary card or just to let someone know how much you love them (limited card space).
Make sure you add the cute Heart Happy Workshop & Stamp to your order before the end of February. It’s a cute one for sure! If you’d like to join the fun of an upcoming card class…leave me your contact information in the comment and I’ll be sure to get you on my list.
It’s already time for another This or That Tuesday…this one was a hard one for me so “both” could be the correct answer if you can’t choose!
I love my furry friends…I don’t have kitties anymore, but the truth is dogs are better companions…it always seemed like my cats loved me on their terms, but my dog – well, he loves me all the time!
Purrrrific and Pawprints on My Heart are two stamp sets featured in the Seasonal Expressions. I love both stamp sets with their sweet sentiments and accessories. Look at that cute ball of yarn. These stamps would make the perfect addition to your stamp collection – which would you choose and why?
