Well, has my Throw Back Thursday encouraged you to bust out your stash and start playing along? I am bound and determined to get some of these old paper packets used.
Would you believe that I don’t have a happy anniversary stamp? I’m appalled, but I improvised with the This & That stamp set. I think it will pass and I’ll write my best wishes to the long married couple on the inside.
I love the pinks and blacks of this paper pack – I think it must have been a card kit, or maybe some bulk paper because there are only two patterns and a small amount of cardstock in the bag.
Do you have old La Vie En Rose papers? Grab them and make something new…I’d really like to see what you come up with and maybe just maybe we can bust our stash together.
I think it’s important to recognize anniversary’s, whether it be yours, a family members or even a friends. In today’s world it just seems too easy to walk away from a relationship so help me in rewarding some longevity!
My two anniversary cards are a little something old and a little something new. Both paper packets are from the Annual Inspirations catalog – Georgie and Kaleidoscope. Both two of my favorites, but with a totally different feel. I used an old stamp of the month, Candlelight Garden and the current stamp of the month Celebrate with Cake.
I colored the Mason jar and flowers with Shin Han markers. You might be able to tell that the flowers are fussy cut and popped up on Thin 3D foam tape. I stamped them once on the jar and then stamped them again to cut out. I really like how this card turned out.
The “cake” card was paper pieced from the Kaleidoscope papers. To color the roses I used a blender pen and the ink from the inside of an ink pad lid. Simple but fun technique. I embellished with lots of bitty sparkles. I stamped the Celebrate over and over in Whisper ink for a soft simple background.
I hope you’ll consider making someone an anniversary card to celebrate their love. Thank you for stopping by. Leave me a comment with how many anniversaries you’ll be celebrating this year! I’ll be celebrating number 6!
The Brushed paper pack is really growing on me…thanks to the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and the Color My Heart Color Dare, I might just get it used up!
This card was inspired by the AHSC #103 and my neighbor down the street who started talking to me about cards with belly bands, since I had the Brushed Paper still sitting on my desk I decided to play with it some more and make an anniversary card to put into my stash.
The first thing I did was grab my envelope punch board and of course since it was on the bottom of a pile made a HUGE mess in the process. Then since I haven’t used it in forever I promptly cut the envelope the wrong size so it’s not a standard card size, oh well all is not lost in crafting. I layered black and colonial white cardstock to the inside stamped two groups of flowers which I colored with the Shin Han markers and popped up the little anniversary banner. I also wanted to give the belly band some texture so I ran it through the Big Shot and tied it with a piece of thick twine. The LOVE is centered on colonial white and black circles and that is layered on additional piece of Brushed B&T which was cut using the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge.
I’m really quite pleased with how everything came together…thank goodness Spring Break is over and I can enter some challenges without someone else grabbing paper and stamps over the top of me!
