Welcome back…today I’m bringing you a card that will work for three, yes three challenges!!!
I have been working on Valentines for the past couple of days and knew that I wanted to incorporate the Color My Heart Color Dare challenge #278 Kraft, Bashful & Gold. After looking at a couple of Sketch Challenges I dropped by the Heart To Heart blog when I found the Make It From Your Heart Challenge so I reached for Volume 4 and took off to making my card.
After seeing an adorable card by my friend and fellow consultant Susan on Instagram I learned that the Three Amigo’s Blog Hop is hosting a Nom, Nom Challenge – S’mores rate really high on my nom nom list!
So there you have it…three challenges in one card. I hope you’ll take a minute and stop by each of the challenges (and maybe even enter). Make sure you leave the DT members a comment because there are lots of work that goes into making these challenge happen.
I appreciate you stopping by…let me know if you are a traditional red/pink Valentine maker or if you stray towards anything sparkly by leaving me a comment.
This month the warm gray of Pewter is featured in the exclusive Color Club card. Accented with a Bashful splatter from the Splash of Color Stamp Set and a paper bow from the Thin Cuts Ribbon Border this card can celebrate a job well done.
Do you have a favorite yet from the new Basics Color Palette?
I hope you’ll take a minute to leave me a comment and if you’d like to learn more about the Color Club or any of my other fun activities drop me a message over on my Facebook page. You can find the link under the Social Media apps.
What a fun weekend of creating I just completed. I spent two nights and two days crafting with 44 other talented ladies at the Dumas Bay Retreat Centre in Federal Way, WA. The views were breathtaking, the food amazing and the time to concentrate on some projects while spending time with friends was lots of fun.
Even though I’m not on the Design Team for the Color My Heart Color Dare – I still want to participate as I can make time. This weeks c
olors are Fern, Heather and Bashful with an option to add Gold.
I picked a new pattern from the Make It From Your Heart 4 – card making pattern book and combined it with stamps from the Chelsea Gardens cardmaking stamp set & die cuts. You really need to see this card in person to appreciate it’s sparkle.
I used Heather B&T paper from the Basics Collection and layered Fern cardstock & Bashful Glitter paper for my banners.
I stamped the leaf stamp directly on the card base in Fern and the sentiment in Heather. I stamped and die cut the butterfly image from Bashful cardstock and then gave it’s wings a touch of sparkle with the Bashful Shimmer Pen. I then finished off the card with a few Gold Glitter Gems.
Make it a beautiful day!
My card was a first runner up over at the Color My Heart Color Dare.
A little Bashful cardstock and Gold Foil added to the Silver and Gold papers make this one of my favorite Christmas Cards this season.
The sentiment from the First Noel stamp set was stamped in Charcoal on the Bashful strip and two Gold Glitter Gems were added for a bit more sparkle.
November Color Club members should have fun with this card design featuring the colors Heather and Bashful.
This card design appears in the Joyful Tidings Cardmaking Kit. I wanted to show how by just changing a few colors and sentiment the card has an entire different feel.
How do you like those Basic Fundamentals background papers? They are on special this month in our Just for Fun promotion. Grab the bundle, you’ll save 40% and get papers, ribbon and complements in each of our Fundamental Color Families.
Happy Friday and welcome to another week of the Color My Heart Color Dare. This week we are featuring the colors: Bashful, Black, Glacier, Toffee and White Daisy.
This little piggy was stamped on Bashful Cardstock and layered on Glacier CS and a piece of Bashful Glitter Paper all on top of a piece of Black & White striped B&T from the Cats & Bats Kit.
OK, now it’s YOUR turn! The full details on how to join the fun is in the sidebar of our homepage. Each color dare is open until 9:00 CDT on Thursday!
While at the homepage – check out what the other design team members have created and leave them a little love (comments make our day)!
Did you pick up the Share A Smile Card Kit? I loved the Punny Pals stamp set when it was released, but adding Thin Cuts took my love over the top.
I’m trying to share some new techniques in my Just the Basics card class and this background was a fun one. I inked an acrylic block directly with my Glacier Ink pad and then spritzed it with water from my Spray Pen and applied it directly to my square of paper. The fun thing about this technique is you won’t get the same results twice. I then stamped my sentiment in Memento Black Ink and popped up the owl which I water-colored.
This is such an easy technique and you can also use multiple colors on your block just make sure to use your lightest color first. You can also use your die-based markers for an additional look.
Thanks for stopping by I hope you’ll give this fun technique a try.
