Hey Cupcake – Color Dare #292

It’s Friday…time for another Color Dare!

This week the Color My Heart Color Dare Design Team is creating with the colors:  Bashful, Canary, & Linen.

Once again I used a pattern from Make It From Your Heart 4.  If you don’t have this little gem of a book – you need to get it ordered.  I also thought this sweet cupcake from the Festive Birthday card kit needed to find it’s way onto this card.  What’s a birthday without some banners and sparkles?

I hope you’ll take some time to create with us you can click HERE for the details of the Color My Heart Color Dare.

My question today is:  Do you think outside the box and use your card kit stamps for other than how they are packaged?

Thanks so much for stopping by…I hope you enjoyed my artwork.

I hope you’ll take some time to create with us you can click HERE for the details of the Color My Heart Color Dare.

Thanks for stopping by my blog – if you like what you see make sure to leave me a little love.

Just Peacock

Do you have a favorite color from the Close to My Heart palette? Mine (today anyway) has got to be Peacock.

It’s a great blue/green that mixes nicely with other colors (especially Bashful) but in the case of this card stands nicely all alone.

I hope you’ll take a minute to leave me a comment with your favorite color.

A Magical Wish

I’ve loved unicorns since I was a child and I’m not embarrassed to admit that I still have a fascination for the magical creatures.

I have a special little girl’s birthday coming up and I started with just making a gift card holder for her, but when I was researching ideas  wasting time on Pinterest I found the cutest idea to add the Artiste Gift Card Holder to the inside of a card base – simply brillant!

I was quite pleased how my card came together and it even inspired me to decorate the inside of my card, which I’ve been fairly lax at lately.

Thanks for stopping by!

Color Dare # 263

Happy Friday and welcome to another week of the Color My Heart Color Dare.  This week we are featuring  the colors:  Espresso, Fern, Pomegranate, Saffron, Toffee, White Daisy and Optional Gold.

No automatic alt text available.

Great rich fall colors just in time for a masculine card.

I kind of chuckled when I linked up my card, because apparently DT member Debi Gardner had the same idea…great minds think a like!  I spent an entire Saturday morning playing in the Craft Coop designing cards for my October Just the Basics Card Class.

I love my Just the Basics class.  It really features some fundamentals of stamping focusing on some techniques and how to use different tools, etc.   We also focus on using the Paper Fundamentals line instead of a seasonal paper packet…such fun!  It’s usually the first Thursday of each month – you can find my card class schedule over on my Papercrafting Princess Facebook Page.

OK, now it’s YOUR turn!  The full details on how to join the fun is in the sidebar of our homepage.  Each color dare is open for two weeks until 9:00 CDT on Thursday, October 12!

Visit our homepage to check out what the other design team members have created and leave them a little love (comments make our day)!

Leave me a comment and let me know what your favorite Fundamentals paper pack is.  Thanks for stopping by…I really hope you’ll link up!

3 Ways From the Heart

Last Monday I told you’d I’d share some samples I’ve made from the September Close to My Heart Special and then the week got away from me. So today I have those cards for you.

My first card is the traditional use of the stamp set from the card kit. Layering the flowers with different inks makes a beautiful card.

My next card was stamped in Memento black ink and colored in. I really like the large sentiment on the front of the card. Inside I layered the flower in the more traditional way.

My third card is a completely different use of the card base, taking a pattern from the Beary Christmas card kit and turning it into a fun fold card.

It is lots of fun playing with this fun fold card kit. One of the tricks is really folding those score lines. Grab your bone folder and you’ll have success.

Thanks for being patient I hope you enjoy these cards.

It’s Tool Time

The challenge on the Heart to Heart Blog this week is to use your favorite tools…my first thought was to go on and on about the thin cuts – I do love them and they are on sale this month.  Then I thought about all the other tools that I use in card making and the one thing that is consistently used is our How To Books.

The Make It From Your Heart pattern books are a staple on my crafting desk…I’ve actually used them so much that the covers are falling off!  When you find a pattern that you love, give it a twist – change the papers, change the orientation, make it yours!

You might recognize my card as one from the Some Kinda Wonderful Workshop Your Way and you’re not mistaken.  If you find a pattern that you like – give it a twist.  It just so happens that the young lady I’m making this card for claims that she “HATES PINK!”  I think she’s just misguided, LOL, but to keep the peace I changed my papers to a fun lagoon heart B&T from the Adventure Fundamentals collection.

A good pattern or “card sketch” isn’t hard to find when you turn to the pages of one of the many Close to My Heart How To Books.

I hope you’ll take a minute to let me know what you think of my card and what you’re favorite tool from Close to My Heart is.

Joyful Stars Blog Hop – Sweet Birthday

joyful-stars-blog-hop-badge

Welcome to the Joyful Stars March Blog Hop!  If you’ve arrived here from Nickie Hoffer’s Blog you are on the right path, if you’re starting here that’s fine too, we are a circular hop so if you keep clicking the links at the bottom of each post you’ll work your way right back to where you started.

Have you heard the news that the Close to My Heart has all of the Thin Cuts on sale this month?  You can learn more by clicking here, but make sure you come back and finish the hop!

My card this month features the fun papers of the Sugar Rush paper packet with a few twists and the Sweet Birthday stamp set and thin cuts.  See that hatch style print B&T under the cupcake – it’s actually a Picture My Life Card from the Sugar Rush papers.  The cupcake is also cut from a PML card – you can’t see it really well in the photo but it’s an ombre pink near the edge of the frosting and I then colored in the wrapper with my Shin Han Touch Twin marker.  The hat and candle were stamped and then cut using the thin cuts.

I love our thin cuts – fussy cutting is not in my vocabulary – I will avoid it at all expense either using my Cricut cartridges, thin cuts or just not cutting something out.

If you don’t have a consultant I’d love it if you’d choose me – not local that’s ok too!  I host a mystery hostess party each month on my business page – if you order you’re entered for a chance to be the hostess for that month.

Leave me a comment about your favorite Cupcakes Close to My Heart product and then hop on over to Krista’s Crafty Corner.

Eek!

This is quickly becoming one of my favorite card sizes.  I like that I can take 1/4 of a 12 X 12 page and with a quick score, fold it into a 3X6 card.

My intention today is to show you that although this is a Halloween Themed paper packet it is far from being exclusive to Halloween.  I love the bright pop of colors from the Jeepers Creepers paper against the black background.

This is one of the cards that will be featured in my upcoming Jeepers Creepers Card Class.  There’s a couple of spots left so make sure you get yours reserved today.

Thanks for stopping by…do you have a monstrous day!
