What a fun weekend of creating I just completed. I spent two nights and two days crafting with 44 other talented ladies at the Dumas Bay Retreat Centre in Federal Way, WA. The views were breathtaking, the food amazing and the time to concentrate on some projects while spending time with friends was lots of fun.
Even though I’m not on the Design Team for the Color My Heart Color Dare – I still want to participate as I can make time. This weeks c
olors are Fern, Heather and Bashful with an option to add Gold.
I picked a new pattern from the Make It From Your Heart 4 – card making pattern book and combined it with stamps from the Chelsea Gardens cardmaking stamp set & die cuts. You really need to see this card in person to appreciate it’s sparkle.
I used Heather B&T paper from the Basics Collection and layered Fern cardstock & Bashful Glitter paper for my banners.
I stamped the leaf stamp directly on the card base in Fern and the sentiment in Heather. I stamped and die cut the butterfly image from Bashful cardstock and then gave it’s wings a touch of sparkle with the Bashful Shimmer Pen. I then finished off the card with a few Gold Glitter Gems.
Make it a beautiful day!
My card was a first runner up over at the Color My Heart Color Dare.
It’s Brooke again with a post for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.
I used a butterfly set to match the sketch with just a little silver shimmer trim.
Ahhhh, spring is in the air and I’m facing a new month of birthdays to get cards in the mail for! Today is filled with beautiful sunshine, but it’s still a bit chilly to be outside for any length of time so I decided to try and get ahead of the daunting birthday card list (I guess that’s what happens when an only child marries number three of seven!)
I really like the butterflies from the Your Own Kind of Wonderful Stamp set and was inspired by page 105 of the Annual Inspirations Catalog and Sketch #97 at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.
TheB & T is the largest scrap that I had of the Skylark Paper Packet (I amost cried). I cut the shape (Oval 5) from the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge first in Kraft and then again using the Decorative Layer and Shift in White Daisy. I wrapped the sentiment in some Linen Thread and then popped up the whole thing with 3D Foam Tape. The Butterflies were stamped in Juniper and Sweat Leaf ink and fussy cut and layered together with a foam dot just in the center.
On the inside of the card I stamped a few more butterflies and the Happy Birthday from the same set. I just love it when a card comes together so simply!
Thanks for stopping by…if you get a chance swing by the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge either for some inspiration or just to be wowed by the artists!
