One of my favorite things to do is design Christmas cards…some traditional, some not so much so!  Whatever your style you won’t want to miss this!  The cider will be steamy and the Christmas Carols will be playing and we’ll have a festive time as you craft to your hearts content.

Here’s how it works:

You can show up anytime between 9:30 – 11:00 ready to create (event ends at 11:45)

You will need to bring your own adhesive, glue dots and regular and thin 3D foam tape.

There will be a table with all the cards, stamp sets, ink and embellishments – each card set is in a packet with all the pieces precut and ready to be assembled as per the example in the bag.

You will complete all the stamping and coloring.

Once you have completed your card you will put all the extra pieces back in the bag and return it to the table where you can pick another card.

Due to the nature of this event some cards may be limited in supply.

At the end you will pay for the cards you create – $2.00 each which includes an envelope.

I’ll be collecting boxes of Hot Chocolate (10 packet size) to donate to the Snohomish Food Bank.  You’ll receive 50 cents off each card for every box of cocoa you bring.  For example Bring 2 boxes of cocoa make 4 cards you will pay just $7  You won’t receive credit for more boxes of cocoa than cards made.

Please RSVP so that I can have plenty of tables.

Sticker Shock!

?????????????????

I recently took a minute while I was at the grocery store to take a look at the card aisle.  My first impression was American Greetings has nothing on me.  My cards all have personality and are made with the recipient in mind.  I am also addicted to bling so there’s always a little something extra – a ribbon, something glitzy, maybe a button!  The cards I looked at were plain…maybe a touch of glitter – each had one thing in common there were at least 5 or 6 of the same card and were all priced over $4.00 each.  If there was a piece of ribbon wrapped around it and it wasn’t on glossy card stock you could up the price by a couple of dollars.

Each month on the second Saturday, I host the Card Cafe.  You’re encouraged to make reservations, but drop ins are welcome!  You arrive to a buffet of cards and the supplies to make them – you can make one of each or many of one.  For $15 and one and a half hours you can add cards to your stash.  There are always at least one birthday and thank you card to choose!

Won’t you join me!

Happy Crafting!

Card Cafe Fills Paper Crafting Appetite

DSCN1135

Last Saturday, I opened what I am calling the Card Café.  Guests with an appetite for paper crafting arrived to a buffet of cards to choose from.  For two and a half hours guests had the opportunity to make one of each card or many of one card.  All supplies were provided and with a small amount of corner rounding, punching and stamping cards were easily assembled.

I found this to be a fun time and enjoyed the two ladies that stopped by.  I will be adding this to my monthly events calendar (the second Saturday of each month – starting in September).  There will be new cards each month so I hope you’ll make a reservation to stop by.
