I am surrounded by amazing consultants and am so blessed that they share their artwork in a Stamp of the Month Swap that I hostess.  The four cards that surround mine are all from that swap and each card is labeled with it’s artist.

I hope you’ll find lots of inspiration from these ladies…if you’d like more information about any of the cards I’ll do my best to answer if you’ll leave a comment below.

Seasonal Trees

Today I have some very special artwork to share with you.  Each month I host a card swap that requires the use of the Close to My Heart Stamp of the Month and each month I am amazed at the talented cards that I receive, photograph, watermark, swap out and send out to my “sister consultants”.

There seems to be a huge debate in the art world if watermarking photos is necessary, but the one thing that I want to avoid is having someone else think I made all this gorgeous work.  So enjoy the art, but also make a note of who made it.

Do you have a favorite…leave me a comment.

For the Love of Crafting – Color Dare #304

Happy Friday and welcome to another week of the Color My Heart Color Dare.  This week we are featuring  the colors: Eggplant, Linen and Peacock.

I chose to pair the August Stamp of the Month, For the Love of Crafting, with the Fundamentals in Eggplant & Peacock.  My typewriter was stamped directly onto the Linen cardstock.  The sentiment was also stamped on Linen, but I fussy cut them (can you believe it) so I could pop them up individually.  Do you know what card kit this pattern was from?  The first one to tell me will get this card in the mail.

OK, now it’s YOUR turn!  The full details on how to join the fun is in the sidebar of our homepage.  Each color dare is open for two weeks so you have plenty of time to play!Image may contain: text

Awesome to the Core

The June Stamp of the Month is filled with some fun outline images just waiting to be colored along with some “punny” sayings.

A few weeks ago I saw a technique video on making a wreath with the Misti stamp positioning tool, you might have seen my lemon wreath card, I thought the apples would work well too! I added a banner cut from the Flower Market Cricut cartridge and stamped the sentiment in the middle. The card was finished with a couple of red gems in two of the corners on the main image.

Don’t forget to get your Bushel & a Peck stamp set for $5 with a qualifying order before the end of June.

Thanks for stopping by – I think all my followers are awesome to the core, especially when you leave me a little love!

Tic Tac Toe – Color Dare 277

The Color My Heart Color Dare has a brand new challenge – 9 squares of color and you can pick just three in a row –  It’s a Tic Tac Toe Color Dare!!!

No automatic alt text available.

I struggled a bit with the January stamp of the month and didn’t create a lot with it.  It’s a great stamp set, but it just didn’t speak clearly to me.  I decided that if I was going to create with it – today would be a good day.

I chose the color combination of Fern, Juniper and Black and another pattern from the Make It From Your Heart Volume 4.

A recent technique that I’ve been using is to layer a piece of white cardstock to my base so that I have a place to tuck my ribbon and keep it hidden.  It also adds a little support to your cards.  I keep a few pieces cut (1/4 inch smaller than my card) and ready to go.  You can use any color of cardstock, but I really like the white on white look.  I usually attach it with some thin 3D foam tape.

Hello Foxy – Color Dare #248

Happy Friday and welcome to another week of the Color My Heart Color Dare.  This week we are featuring  the colors: Desert Sand, Glacier, New England Ivy, Sapphire & White Daisy

I warned you that Hello Foxy was my favorite Stamp of the Month from the Seasonal Expressions and I wanted to find a way to use these three little foxes all together.  When I saw this 3X6 card layout I immediately thought of a photo booth.  So I inked up each of the foxes and colored with my Shin Han Markers.  The basket-weave B&T is from the No Worries Paper packet and the ribbon is from the Enchantment Ribbon pack which is on the retiring list so make sure you get some ordered today.

OK, now it’s YOUR turn!  The full details on how to join the fun is in the sidebar of our homepage.  Each color dare is open until 9:00 CDT on Thursday!

Tea-riffic – March Stamp of the Hop

march2017badge

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!  We will be featuring March’s SOTM, which is Tea-riffic, a set of 11 stamps.  If you have come here from Vickie Odell’s Heartful Stamper Blog, you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way all around.  If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants on Melinda’s Blog:  http://ifyoublingit.blogspot.com/p/stamp-of-month-blog-hop-list.html.

This month we have over 25 Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using this month’s SOTM and other great CTMH products on their blogs. This is simple to do – just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next blog!  Here we go…

I had a hard time deciding which stamp I wanted to feature from this set…I finally settled on the stacked cups which I colored brightly with the Shin Han Touch Twin markers.  I chose to use the Whimsy Fundamentals and matching ribbon for my card, I felt the soft water-colored design did not compete with my image.

I’ve had a lot of fun playing with this stamp set and later this month will be sharing some artwork that I received when I participated in the Stamp of the Month Swap hosted by my upline.  Leave me acomment and let me know if you’re a coffee or tea drinker!

Now “Hop” on over to Gina Brandstetter’s  Blog to see her work! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their Blogs to get some great crafting ideas and other fun ideas! Remember, the March SOTM is only available until 31st!  Contact your CTMH Consultant (or click here) to see how you can get this stamp set at a discount!

It’s Pumpkin Season – Color Dare #211

Did you miss me last week?  Sometimes when it rains it pours, sometimes the sunshines and once in a while you give up your craft room to your hunky husband so he can put the ceiling in.  Seriously I missed not playing in the Color Dare last week…talk about colors right up my alley!

Well, this week there’s another fun Dare #211 requires the use of Saffron, Poppy, Fern and Colonial White (oh yes, I love that creamy white that so often seems forgotten).  I also learned about a new challenge Stampin’ Royalty sounds like it might be right up this Princess’ Alley so I’m linking up there too!

Perfect for pumpkins and of course other things too…don’t forget to go check out the other Design Team Cards at the Color My Heart Color Dare Blog.

This card features the pumpkin from September’s Stamp of the Month Blessed Beyond Measure and it’s a Cricut compatible stamp set (yippee).  See that panel of leaves?  It’s another stamp from the same set just random stamped in Fern ink and the Fundamentals Enchantment collection another new favorite!

I’m not a huge fan of ribbons because I can’t tie a bow to save my life (other than the ones on my shoes), but one of my consultant friends suggested that I get some twine and just separate the ends after tying it in a knot.  Guess what?  It works!  A couple of sequins later and I called this card done!

There’s an entire week for you to stop by and link up your creation at the Color Dare Blog.  It’s pumpkin season let someone know you’re thinking of them.

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy September!

Can you believe that September is here already?  It’s feeling a little fall-like already in the Pacific Northwest.  I have to admit I love fall…we get to harvest pumpkins and host our annual pumpkin carving party, Thanksgiving is just around the corner and it’s football season!  Did you see that Seahawks game last night?

September is also full of exciting things at Close to My Heart.  We have a brand new Holiday Expressions Catalog that debuted on September 1st packed full of all kinds of goodies to get you through the holiday season from scary monsters to some of the most elegant Christmas papers.  You can get your copy right here or by giving me a call.

There’s also a brand new Stamp of the Month.  Blessed Beyond Measure has the most beautiful script and the sentiments really express true gratitude.  The leaves and pumpkin will really tie it in for your holiday cards.  One of my favorite sentiments from this set is “The secret to having it all is knowing you already do”.  Isn’t that so true?

Another special this month is our Create Kindness Card Kit.  Filled with enough supplies to make 24 adorable little cards this card kit is sure to bring happy smiles.  How about sticking a few cards in your child’s backpack to drop off to the school secretary or maybe hand one to your favorite barista as you pick up that morning Pumpkin Spice Latte?  I really think that a little act of kindness can make a BIG difference in someone’s day and what’s even better – I’m having a special event on September 17th (National Stamping Day) so that we can put all these cute little cards together.  I hope you’ll order your kit and join me.

Create Kindness Card Kit

That’s a whole lot going on in the month of September.  Thank you for sticking with me until the end.
