I have been on a creative roll since this stamp set arrived on my door step.  I had my card all made and swapped with some fellow consultants and then my new product order arrived.  That’s right…brand new product is available TODAY and you are going to love it. That wonderful wood grain paper is now the foundation of our Rustic Fundamentals papers – a very basic set of terrific neutrals.  The paper fundamentals line got a new make-over and YOU are going to LOVE them!  The black cross is also from the fundamentals line only this time is the Uptown group.  What do you think of this pretty green at the bottom of the card and also stamped with BOO!?  It’s the brand new Color of the Year from Close to My Heart – Seaglass!  It’s available in inks, cardstock and glitter paper – I think you’ll be seeing lots of it because it’s well….uhhhhh, kinda my new favorite color!

Stay tuned for more artwork appearing throughout the month, so you don’t miss any please sign up to receive e-mail updates by clicking the follow me button on the sidebar.

Animals on the Bus

Happy Monday – I’m here again with more Stamp of the Month artwork as promised.  I wanted to do something fun and different this week and maybe find a way to incorporate the Animal Greetings Operation Smile stamp set.

I thought and I thought and then it hit me…put the animals on the bus!  When my son was a little guy (he’s 25 now) he had several Richard Scary books – his favorite was Busy Town.  I can’t remember how many times we read it, but I remember all the animals in all the different vehicles so my card was born.

This card is a mere 3X6 – a sweet size for sticking in a backpack, briefcase or leaving under a pillow.  The Calypso Papers are surely getting a workout this month too.  It’s only available until the end of July so make sure you get what you might need to play with in the future.

Don’t you see so many possibilities with this stamp set?  I’ll be back with another card next week, but with just 10 days left in June don’t let this stamp set get away from you!  You can add it to a qualifying order for just $5…why not order yours today?

This month I decided to focus my classes on the men in our lives and I made a card perfect for a birthday, father’s day or just because!  I decided to use the colors and papers from the Urban Paper Packet.  I love the grunge look of some of the papers – they are definitely guy themed.

I started by random stamping the road signs and arrows along the top of the card then layered on the papers.  To finish off the card I used embellishments from the Urban Complements pack along with some Bronze Glitter Trim and Blue Enamel & Glitter Gems.  I really love how this card turned out.

I first thought that this would be a tough set for making cards, but I’ve had fun using it and will feature it on Monday’s throughout June so I hope you’ll come back and take a look.  If you’d like to follow my blog by e-mail so you don’t miss a post just click on the follow button along the right side of the page.

Now I’d like to direct you to Maureen’s blog where I’m sure she’s got something wonderful to share.  Make sure you hop around to all the consultants.  Remember the June Stamp of the month is only available thru June 30th – don’t delay order yours here today!

Another Piece of Cake

I have been really bad about sending cards – particularly birthday cards!  So bad that I think my “sorry I forgot” stamp has a permanent home on my desk top.

May’s Stamp of the Month, Celebrate with Cake has encouraged me to quit settling for a quick note on Facebook and actually send “real cards” to my friends and family this year.

When you add this set of 17 stamps to your collection – you’ll not only be able to celebrate birthdays, but weddings and anniversaries too!  And let’s face it any other reason to Celebrate with Cake!

Close to My Heart offers all kinds of wonderful card making supplies – from our Cut Above card kits to the ink, stamps and papers to make a card from scratch.  Won’t you join me in bringing back birthdays?

Mine’s in August…when’s yours?  Leave me a comment if you’d like to get on my birthday list!

I’ve been meeting with some sister consultants monthly to create with the Stamp of the Month.  The inspiration and challenge they bring to push me to another level is so much fun.  My buddy Darlys (mentioned above) is one of those consultants!

When I saw the camera stamps I immediately thought film strip – my first passion in life is photography and I spent many years developing my own film and printing the pictures.  Now I just take them…100’s of them every month, but I digress.  Back to my card…I couldn’t help including the Operation Smile promotional stamp set Animal Greetings.  I kept them simple stamping in black to preserve the look of a negative.  I finished off my card simply with a purple glitter heart from the Enamel and Glitter Duos Purple Hearts.

Featured Friday #3

Welcome back to Featured Friday.  This week I’m coming to you from a temporary studio in soggy Oregon 🙂  As we were packing to leave town I grabbed my Penelope Paper packet and Complements, my Shin Han Markers, the March Stamp of the Month Sunshine Birdies and a few other supplies to keep myself occupied while my Wrangler wearing sweetheart was in his business meetings.

I knew I wanted to share this cute Quarter Fold Card with you as it is simple and done with limited supplies.  Closed the card resembles a flat box with the tops folded in and secured.  Open it has a place to write a note, stamp a sentiment or in my case just give a canvas for some additional artwork.

Before I give you the instructions I wanted to share a close up of the complements cluster.  Both the Flower Stickease and the Vellum Hello are from the Penelope Complements and the little silver arrow is from the Playful Puffies, they coordinate quite nicely with the silver accents on the vellum.

Instructions:

  • Cut your cardstock bases  4 3/16 X 11 and 5 7/16 X 8 1/2
  • Score the 4 3/16 piece 2 3/4″ from each end.
  • Score the 5 7/16 piece 2 1/8″ from each end.
  • Adhere one card inside the other with a strong adhesive (it doesn’t matter which is inside)
  • Cut your inside piece to 3 3/4 X 5 and decorate as desired and adhere to the inside.
  • Fold the corners of the card in so that each has a corner showing (like you would to secure a box closed)
  • Adhere B&T paper 1 3/4 X 2 3/8 to the corners of your card front.
  • Decorate the outside as desired.

I hope this has given you inspiration to try a new card fold.  I’d love to see what you do, so leave me a link to your creation in the comments section.

See you next week.

Paper Garden – September SOTM

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop, we are featuring September’s Stamp of the Month Paper Garden a set of ten elegant floral stamps.  If you have come here from Jen’s blog you are on the right path!  The blog hop is a great big circle so even if your starting here you’ll work your way around by clicking the links at the end of the post.

This month there are over 40 Close to My Heart Consultant’s sharing their art, what are we waiting for let’s get started!

I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with this set.  I was very attracted to the floral images, but a little intimidated too.  I saw this card fold and thought it would make a great focus for the floral image.  It was super easy to make!

  • Card Base: 4-1/4″ x 7-1/4″ and 2-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ (bottom piece).  Score the larger piece at 5-1/2″.
  • B & T: 1-3/4″ x 4″ and 2-1/4″ x 4″ (I used two different colors of the Enchantment Paper Fundamentals)
  • Inside of the card: 4″ x 5-1/4″
  • Front panel: 2-1/4″ x 3 -3/4″(same color as the card base), 2″ x 3-1/2″(same as the inside of the card)
  1. Attach the B & T to the top and bottom pieces.
  2. Stamp on the 2″ x 3-1/2″ piece.  Layer on the 2-1/4″ x 3-3/4″ piece.
  3. Position the bottom piece (2-1/2″ x 4-1/4″) on the card base.  Take care to line up the edges. I used Thin 3D Foam Tape on the 4 corners of the stamped piece and attach it to the top of the card and the bottom.  This is what holds the card together.
  4. I put light pencil lines where my sentiment would fit and stamped so that area would be seen with the card closed.

Now hop on over to Jen Rubio’s blog (yes, I’m the filling in the Jen oreo this month on the blog hop) to see her artwork.  Be sure to visit all the consultants blogs to get some great crafting inspiration!  Remember the September Stamp of the Month is only available until September 30th – so order yours today!!!
