It’s time for more trouble…a Double Trouble Papercrafting Challenge that is!
For those of you that might not know me I’m the original Twisted Sister from Double Trouble. I took an extended hiatus, but it looks like I’m back. My name is Tracey and I split my time between Washington and Arizona with my two favorite guys – my Wrangler-wearing Sweetheart and our fur-baby Scuttlebutt!
I thought the Double Trouble #90 – You’re Kitten Me was the perfect place for me to jump in…unlike my “sisters” I don’t have cats (although I used to have 4) and since meeting my hubby can’t imagine my life without a dog. I also have a fondness for cows and farm-life and burro’s and the desert!
The Double Trouble Challenge consists of three parts: Trouble Makers main challenge, Double Dares challenge to link with another blog which you may or may not decided to participate in and Twisted Sisters surprise challenge! You can find all the details on the rules page of the challenge blog.
I chose to play with a current Close to My Heart Stamp Set – I woof you. This set includes three adorable dogs, punny sentiments and a couple of dog accessories. As you can imagine my stamp collection includes a BUNCH of dog stamps to choose from and a few cats too, just so no one thinks I’m partial to one or the other! Papers are from the July-August CTMH Mix-Ins – I love using these papers with or without the featured paper collections in each catalog.
If you’d like more information on any of the products I’ve used, please feel free to reach out to me by leaving a comment. If you don’t have a current Close to My Heart Consultant, I’d love to be YOURS!
Thanks again for stopping by and I look forward to seeing your creation on the Double Trouble Challenge Blog!
With classes in The Coop currently on hold I wanted to come up with an idea that will keep you crafty – you may have already heard, but if not let me introduce you to The Chick’s Pick!
The Chick’s Pick will be new each month so make sure you’ve signed up to receive my blog posts by e-mail or check back here so you don’t miss out on the fun!
Each month I will feature my current favorite stamp (because they are all favorites at one time or another) and create three cards that I hope you fall in love with. Not only will you build your stamp collection with a new stamp (sometimes a thin cut too) you will receive pre-cut and pre-punched project supplies to make THREE cards (1 each of three designs) using the featured stamp set each month. When you participate for 3 consecutive months you’ll receive an additional bonus gift from me.
You’ll find each month’s pick here on my blog for reference along with a list of supplies that I’ve used. Make sure you e-mail me when you place your order at my website http://www.papercraftingprincess.ctmh.com so that I can mail your kit.
The August pick is So Tweet an adorable set of birdies that includes some cute sentiments too. You can find the stamp sethere!
Supplies: You will need to provide your own card bases, adhesive, embellishments & ink.
Card 1: Versa Mark Ink with White Embossing Powder for Sentiment, Liquid Glass for eye glasses, Bird has been popped up with dimensional foam tape.
Card 2: Dovetail end of sentiment strip, pop bird up with dimensional foam tape
Card 3: Trim card base front to 3.5 inches add patterned paper to front & Blue Bird cardstock strip to inside at the bottom so it can be seen when the card is closed. Sentiment has been stamped directly onto patterned paper I suggest doing this PRIOR to attaching it to card base. Bird is popped up with dimensional foam tape.
If you have any questions please leave me a comment.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month – this pink promotion has a special meaning in my life, but being in October makes it doubly special to me.
My mom had breast cancer, not once, not twice but three times. She had a masectomy after her second diagnoses and had been years cancer free before it snuck up and snatched her from our life on October 4, 2012. Cancer does that…just BOOM and someone you love is gone! She was such a brave fighter!
I was pretty excited when Close to My Heart brought back the retired Ribbon Warrior stamp set and thin-cuts for the October special. The bundle is offered at a 20% discount and I want you to know it can be used for way more than just pink ribbons.
I always schedule my mammogram in the month of October – as a way to honor my mom. I certainly don’t like it, but while changing in the dressing room I always think my mom would be so proud of me.
As a special thank you, when you purchase the Ribbon Warrior Bundle from my website I will gift you this exclusive Your Kind Heart Stamp Set. I will also donate all of my commission from the sale of this set to the American Cancer Society.
There are so many new products being released on September 1st – I wasn’t sure what I wanted to share first so I decided to pop in with a card using the September Stamp of the Month and a new color scheme from the Love of Color – Close to My Heart’s latest How To book.
I picked a B&T paper from the Boutique Paper Suite and then turned to the Saffron Page in the Love of Color Book. It suggested a color combination of Saffron, Almond, Peacock, Ruby & Espresso. Now for the life of me I am not a 5 color gal in card making unless it happens that all the stars align in a B&T paper (which sometimes it does), but I decided this new book couldn’t lead me astray so I grabbed my other favorite How To Book – Make it From Your Heart Vol 4 and went to work.
The September Stamp of the Month, Sweet Treats, is a real winner and will celebrate all your upcoming occasions through the end of the year and beyond. When you can purchase a stamp set for just $5.00 with a qualifying purchase why wouldn’t you want to have it as part of your stamp collection?
This is the cover for the new Love of Color Book. It will fit in our 6X8 everyday life album and I’m pretty sure you’ll be hearing a lot about this book in the coming days & months!
There really are so many specials going on during the month of September…make sure you check back frequently and you can even visit my business page at www.papercraftingprincess.ctmh.com to learn more.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Leave me a little love with a comment on what you’re most excited about with this new catalog.
I am so excited for you to see the new Close to My Heart Holiday Expressions Catalog I’m finding it hard to wait the 7 days or so until September 1st!
You’ll notice a few changes with this new Idea Book – besides the new products! It’s bigger and better than ever because we are going to have a new catalog every quarter and have done away with the two idea books – no more wondering “is that in the big catalog or that little one?”
If you have yet to sign up for my Color Club this is the perfect time to do it. We’ll be kicking it off in September with the brand new Color of the Year! If you have any questions be sure to e-mail or give me a call.
One other fun thing that will be happening with this idea book is a chance to earn free card kits from me. I will pick a new stamp set each month (not the stamp of the month) to be my featured set. You’ll see me use it in various projects throughout the month and on two featured cards. When you choose to add my featured stamp set to your order you will receive the items to recreate those cards. Of course you’ll need to supply the card bases and inks for stamping, but this should be a fun way to get those new stamps inky right when you get them! You’ll hear more about this program when you attend “Cards in the Coop” on September 6th or you can e-mail me at email@example.com for more information.
I’m looking forward to sharing many fun times…you can find my events listed on my Facebook Page or you can e-mail me with the subject line “What’s Happening in the Coop” and I’ll send you a list of current scheduled events.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoy your sneak peek at Boutique.
When I registered for the Close to My Heart Convention this year I also signed up for the Consultant Showcase. I was provided a 3 foot X 18 inch space in which I could display anything I wanted.
I decided that I wanted to keep my display to cards and picked to use the Basic Fundamentals & Bashful (2017-18 Color of the Year).
I was really excited about my cards, but not so excited to put them on display. I am very blessed to have a dear friend that is also a consultant that promised to stay with me – she was my human security blanket 🙂
The night started off with a bang – there was a Sticky Boy right above my display that neither one of us saw. I had a great time interacting with other consultants and realized that I can’t wait to do this again. Fears are meant to be conquered, right!
I have my cards listed for sale on my Facebook page through 7/16 in hopes to earn some money to help Operation Smile. I hope you’ll pop over there and consider bidding.
Happy Friday and welcome to another week of the Color My Heart Color Dare. This week we are featuring the colors: Poppy, Lemon & Willow
Today my card features one of my favorite B&T papers from the Central Park collection. The Willow paper just reminds me of a yard full of grass…it’s funny the feelings a paper can conjure up don’t you think!
There are two things about this card that I really thought I needed to share:
Although I started with a pattern from MIFYH (Make It From Your Heart) Vol 4, I’ve only used it as a starting point. My sentiment square size was changed to fit my sentiment and I added a piece of Zip Strip across the bottom and then a circle with a second sentiment. The Make It From Your Heart patterns can be used again and again either just as they are or as a jumping off point for your own creation. People tell me time and time again that I can whip up a card in no time at all, by using these How To Books I put my card making into high gear.
Let me call attention to that sentiment square again. The Quotable Words (D1786) stamp set is sold as a scrapbook stamp set and sometimes I think card makers see “scrapbook” and turn their nose up – card makers are an elite group after-all 😉 Unfortunately I think you miss out a bit that way…a stamp is a stamp is a stamp! It is in YOUR power to use them in any old way you want – don’t let a company paint you into a corner just because it says “scrapbook” or is in the scrapbook section of a catalog.
Welcome back…it’s nice to see that I’m not the only one that follows the lead of Trouble Makers 🙂 Seriously, we’re so excited to see so much participation in our challenges.
This week Thing 1 has a 3,2,1 challenge – now I’ve been around the challenge arena (can you tell I’m a farm-girl at heart) a time or two, but this was something new to me. I thought it was fun and hope you do, too!
Here’s a run-down of her challenge:
3 Colors – use only three colors on your project
2 Word Sentiment – choose something like Happy Birthday, Get Well, Thank You – y’all get the idea right?
After last weeks fiasco with my hair I’m back to blonde and can’t wait to get even with my Arizona Sisters, but it’s going to have to wait until after their HOT, DRY summer – which got me to thinking about embossing so my twist is to use either DRY or HEAT embossing on your project. Of course this twist is completely optional, but I’d love to show those girls something and have EVERYONE use some sort of embossing on their project!!!
My card features, Bashful, Juniper and Tangerine and a great sketch from the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Team who agreed to link up with us this week and next (I’ll be back next Monday with a Double Trouble 4.5).
Our Thing 3 challenge is to link up to the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #271 and or next weeks challenge #272. For now here’s this weeks sketch and by clicking here it will take you right to their post to play along. Don’t forget when entering there to come back and play with us at the Double Trouble as well.
Thanks for stopping by…I’m looking forward to seeing your 3,2,1 challenge entries at Double Trouble.
