Happy Friday I’m back with another Design Team card for Color My Heart Color Dare. This week our challenge is taken from a beautiful inspiration photo.
I had fun looking through paper packets trying to figure out what I was going to use when I ran across Flirty – I believe it was a paper packet that was released during my first CTMH convention in Dallas.
I combined some old with new combining a new stamp set with an old paper & embellishments. I used New England Ivy & Raspberry Ink and although it’s not a perfect match the color works well together.
You can visit the Color My Heart Color Dare blog for all the information on how to play along as well as finding additional inspiration from the other Design Team members.
My bestie’s surprise birthday was this weekend and I wanted to make sure that even though my gift was small that it packed some punch on delivery!
First, I grabbed my old packet of Flirty paper that I have been hording – YES, I horde paper. If there’s a paper I really like I just don’t want to cut it…crazy huh? Then I put my Cricut to work using both the Art Philosophy and Artiste cartridges. I love making the rolled flowers, but don’t use them much because they get squished when you mail them, but I think it made the perfect accent on the purse closure. I attached the tag (which was almost as big as the purse) with a small piece of bakers twine.
The funny thing is I forgot to take a picture of the entire thing until we were on our way to the party so I used the console in my husband’s truck as a background…it’s really hard to take pictures when you’re driving down the road, LOL!
If you’d like to learn more about the Cricut Cartridges available from Close to My Heart – drop me an e-mail at email@example.com or join my upcoming birthday card class.
This month on the Paper Trail we are featuring Close to My Heart’s Flirty Paper! Let me just say I LOVE this paper!
If you are finding your way here from Vicki’s Wizard Hangout I’m sure you’ve already seen some amazing artwork with this paper! Vicki amazes me every month with her creativity! If you haven’t don’t worry about it…you see we are a circular trail and pretty soon you’ll wind up right back where you started!
I had time this month to make both a scrapbook layout and a set of cards. This paper really speaks fall and romance to me and with several seasonal colors you won’t want to miss playing with this paper.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my art and now head to Betsy’s Stamp Scrap Fever where you’ll be able to continue to be mesmorized with this flirty paper!
