Ice Cream Treat

If you’ve been following me for anytime you know that I love cards with movement and making them just got so much easier.

I saw a die from Lawn Fawn which makes Magic Slider cards. It’s now happily at home in the Craft Coop.

I grabbed a fun ice-cream themed stamp set from a few years ago and went to work making my card. The big surprise is a gift card attached to the back side of the slider.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit…I hope you can leave a comment with your favorite flavor of ice cream!

Dear Friend – Color 275

What a fun weekend of creating I just completed.  I spent two nights and two days crafting with 44 other talented ladies at the Dumas Bay Retreat Centre in Federal Way, WA.  The views were breathtaking, the food amazing and the time to concentrate on some projects while spending time with friends was lots of fun.

Even though I’m not on the Design Team for the Color My Heart Color Dare – I still want to participate as I can make time.  This weeks c

olors are Fern, Heather and Bashful with an option to add Gold.

I picked a new pattern from the Make It From Your Heart 4 – card making pattern book and combined it with stamps from the Chelsea Gardens cardmaking stamp set & die cuts.  You really need to see this card in person to appreciate it’s sparkle.

I used Heather B&T paper from the Basics Collection and layered Fern cardstock & Bashful Glitter paper for my banners.

I stamped the leaf stamp directly on the card base in Fern and the sentiment in Heather.  I stamped and die cut the butterfly image from Bashful cardstock and then gave it’s wings a touch of sparkle with the Bashful Shimmer Pen.  I then finished off the card with a few Gold Glitter Gems.

Make it a beautiful day!

UPDATE:

My card was a first runner up over at the Color My Heart Color Dare.

Sweet Tea

Welcome back…I trust you all had a good weekend?  Today is my hubby’s birthday and in honor of his Texas roots I wanted to bring you a little Sweet Tea!

Seriously, I never drank sweet tea until  his baby sister introduced me – it’s so much better when she makes it, so I always task her with the chore when she comes to my house!  I digress, you’re really here to see my card, right?

This little gem of a card was inspired by a couple of the cards I received in my Stamp of the Month Swap – I had wanted to find a use for that little tea tag, but it wasn’t coming to me right away (I guess that’s why I should participate in swaps more often).  Using the papers from the Sugar Rush Paper Packet led to using my watercolors on the tea cup and tea bag tag.  I’m still getting the hang of my watercolors, but I’m starting to like the natural blending that happens.  I then poked a little hole in the top of the tea bag and the top of the cup and just let it dangle. I loved the interaction it added to the card, but it wasn’t hanging just how I wanted so I eventually added a piece of 3D foam tape and popped it up.  See that banner of words – it’s one of the zip-strips from the paper packet.  NEVER overlook these…they are perfect to add as an embellishment to a card or scrapbook page and don’t cost you anything extra!

Make sure you get your March Stamp of the Month before it’s gone…it’s a Tea-riffic deal at just $5 with a qualifying purchase!

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you’ll take a minute and leave me a comment telling me if you like sweet tea?

It’s Lisa’s Challenge – Color Dare #209

Welcome to another Friday at the Color My Heart Color Dare!  Remember 9 challenges ago when we celebrated turning 200 and the grand prize was a chance to pick your own color challenge!  Well, here it is Color Dare 209 is Lisa’s winning Color Combo – Gold, Sorbet, Pomegranate, Pear, Black and White Daisy!

My initial thought when I saw these colors was “you’ve got to be kidding me”, but once I started pulling out papers I realized that I really liked them together.

All of the B&T papers our from our newly designed Fundamentals line mounted on Black cardstock mounted to a card base.  The Gold Glitter Strip runs the width of the card and is topped off by a sentiment stamped in Pear and Black mounted on Pear cardstock.  To finish it off I added three Green Enamel triangles.

I hope you’ll jump over to the Color Dare’s blog and take a look what the other Design Team Members have created.  I also have high hopes that you’ll take a few minutes to participate.  You don’t even have to have a blog to enter – PINTEREST works just fine!

Thanks for stopping by…leave me a comment about what you think about these colors.

Have a great Labor Day Weekend!

Who’s Your Melon?

My husband is my one in a melon!  As of yesterday we have been married six funtabulous years!  My hope is that he knows how much I love him and everything he does for me.

This fun card features papers from the Calypso paper packet.  That strip of words is actually a zip strip.  Do you use them on your cards?  I think they are just the right pick me up AND you don’t have to cut a half inch strip off your beautiful 12X12 sheets!  I try to incorporate them often.

Both the One in A Melon stamp set and the Calypso paper packet will be retiring at the end of August so make sure you get them on your next order.  There is a big list of items retiring at the end of July so make sure you double check your wish list and get them ordered before they are gone.  If you don’t have a consultant I’d love to be yours.  You can find me on facebook, leave me a message here (include how to reach you) or place an order on my consultant website.

Would you like to see a list of shopping items that I use to make my card with a link to order them?  Thanks for stopping by…see you soon!
