At the end of 2013 I made some decisions to focus a little more on what brings me happiness and spending MORE time in the craft room was at the top of my list. When my husband runs out of socks will someone please come do the laundry! 🙂
I was wandering around some Blog Challenges that I have bookmarked and thought I’d take a look at the Heart to Heart Challenges, it just so happens that they have scrapbook challenges which was right up my alley this month. You can find their blog here.
Our January challenge is Sentimental January.
* 12″ x 12″ page Layouts involving a sentimental moment with friends, family, or pets (past or present)
* Must use a CTMH Exclusive Stamp Set featuring a sentiment and let’s see some journaling.
*At least one photo
These pictures are two-fold in fitting the theme of a Sentimental Journey. Our sweet granddaughter has been absent from our life for almost three years. I had started a scrapbook of the times that we had spent together and put it away because of the pain it caused to look at the pictures and have such a void in my heart. We were reunited with her in December and I took her unfinished scrapbook in hopes that it would show her how much love we have for her. It also encouraged me to start scrapbooking her pictures again so that I can show her again the next time we get to see her.
I am trying to use up most of my old paper packets and thought this Claire would be perfect without being too “girly” for grandpa!
My sentiment or title is from the Frosted Scrapbooking WOTG and the flowers were cut using the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge and then stamped with the Girls Rock My Acrylix stamp set. I wanted to keep my accessories simple so just used an assortment of Clear Crystal Sparkles in the flower centers.
I’d love to help you scrapbook your sentimental journey!
I woke up to a cold, windy, rainy day in the great Pacific Northwest and I figured I was overdue for a day in the craft room!
One of my 2014 resolutions was to take more time for me so I took today to get ready for my Sunday Card Cafe!
Besides Pinterest, I follow a number of Close to My Heart Consultants Blogs that inspire my artwork. The first two cards were inspired by sister consultants, yet I put my own spin on them to make them mine!
My third card was inspired by the Close to My Heart Designers and taken nearly exactly from the pages of the Idea Book.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my art and will take time to create some of your own!
November seems like perfect timing to showcase Close to My Heart’s Frosted Paper Packet as the weather turns cold and frosty in the great Pacific Northwest! If you’ve arrived here from Mary’s The Road to Peace of Mind or Escape you are on the right path…if you’re starting here just following the links will give you many beautiful ideas on using this paper.
The Frosted Paper features 2 exclusive colors – Frosted Grey and Frosted Turquoise along with Champagne and Colonial White. The Workshop on the Go Scrapbooking Kit introduces Blush and the Card Making Kit introduces Kraft, Olive and Ruby all perfect with the elegant muted colors of the Frosted papers.
My first thought was to use this for Miss H’s first sledding trip, but I really wanted to play with some cards that I might easily recreate for Christmas…it is the first of November after all!
I grabbed my Make It From Your Heart Volume 2 Pattern Book and first picked my patterns. I chose Pattern 25 and 28. Then I decided I would add a twist and use the Die Cut Cards and Envelope packet that I had been saving for a special occasion (this should really read hording, but I wouldn’t want to admit I have a paper addiction.
You’ll notice that both cards have been simply decorated with Silver Shimmer Trim (I learned a little trick at the CTMH Album Retreat that if you leave a tail on your shimmer trim it makes it much easier to peel away from the backing) and the first card has two Clear Sparkles.
My complete supply list with a link to purchase these items is at the end of this post. You can scroll down to start shopping or you can roll on over to Amy The Pineapple Paper Artist to see what treat she has in store for you!
