With all the Sprinkles – Color Dare#315

Happy Friday!

Welcome to another week of the Color My Heart Color Dare.  This week it’s Tic Tac Toe…one of our most popular weeks at the Color Dare.  It’s really quite easy – we provide the board you decide which colors you want to use.

No automatic alt text available. There are so many fun combinations I had a hard time deciding what I was going to do, but I finally settled on a card for an October Birthday and created with Black, Lemon & Nectarine the Vertical Row on the right side.

Although no longer in the catalog the Sweet Birthday stamp set and thin cuts are still available in my online shopping section here.  This is such a fun set and the cupcake can be decorated with sprinkles or a cute smile too!

There are so many fun cards made by the Design Team this week you really need to head over and take a look.

OK, now it’s YOUR turn!  The full details on how to join the fun is in the sidebar of our homepage.  Each color dare is open until 9:00 CDT on Thursday!

A Million Feelings – Color Dare #301

Happy Friday and welcome to another week of the Color My Heart Color Dare.  This week we are featuring  the colors: Poppy, Lemon & Willow

Today my card features one of my favorite B&T papers from the Central Park collection.  The Willow paper just reminds me of a yard full of grass…it’s funny the feelings a paper can conjure up don’t you think!

There are two things about this card that I really thought I needed to share:

  1.   Although I started with a pattern from MIFYH (Make It From Your Heart) Vol 4, I’ve only used it as a starting point.  My sentiment square size was changed to fit my sentiment and I added a piece of Zip Strip across the bottom and then a circle with a second sentiment.  The Make It From Your Heart patterns can be used again and again either just as they are or as a jumping off point for your own creation.  People tell me time and time again that I can whip up a card in no time at all, by using these How To Books I put my card making into high gear.
  2. Let me call attention to that sentiment square again.  The Quotable Words (D1786) stamp set is sold as a scrapbook stamp set and sometimes I think card makers see “scrapbook” and turn their nose up – card makers are an elite group after-all 😉  Unfortunately I think you miss out a bit that way…a stamp is a stamp is a stamp!  It is in YOUR power to use them in any old way you want – don’t let a company paint you into a corner just because it says “scrapbook” or is in the scrapbook section of a catalog.

OK, now it’s YOUR turn!  The full details on how to join the fun is in the sidebar of our homepage.

I love these bright cheery colors especially Tangerine so I decided to showcase it a little on this card.  This chevron stamp set has been retired for a while, but it’s on the tops of my favorite list.

Bright Birthday – Color Dare # 241

Happy Friday…I’ve been MIA from the Color My Heart Color Dare Blog for a few weeks, but I’m back with some bright cheery colors.  This week we are featuring the colors Lemon, Raspberry, Willow and White Daisy.

I embossed each of my cardstock panels and then layered a strip of white daisy stamped in Lemon.  I love the bright yellow, but it can be hard to see if you don’t use a bold stamp.  My hibiscus is made with the Flower Market cartridge and cut at 1.75.

You Are Fabulous – Color Dare #232

Happy Friday and welcome to another Color My Heart Color Dare.  This week we are featuring the colors:  Fern, Lemon, Sapphire & White Daisy.

I once again reached for the So Many Smiles stamp set.  This set works perfectly in so many colors.  I even pretty much used the same layout that is in the Annual Inspirations…let those Close to My Heart artists do the hard work for you.  Seriously, I don’t think there is any complement greater than someone recreating your card (with proper credit…I get a little cranky if someone lifts one and claims it as their own).  To bring a little balance to the upper half of the card I stacked three of our Green Enamel & Glitter Triangles.  They are almost an exact match for Fern.

OK, now it’s YOUR turn.  Head on over to the Color My Heart Homepage and look for the instructions on the sidebar on how to enter your creation.  Each Color Dare is open until 9:00 CDT on Thursday.
