A Magical Wish

I’ve loved unicorns since I was a child and I’m not embarrassed to admit that I still have a fascination for the magical creatures.

I have a special little girl’s birthday coming up and I started with just making a gift card holder for her, but when I was researching ideas  wasting time on Pinterest I found the cutest idea to add the Artiste Gift Card Holder to the inside of a card base – simply brillant!

I was quite pleased how my card came together and it even inspired me to decorate the inside of my card, which I’ve been fairly lax at lately.

The Long & Short of It

Did you guess that my card would have this cute little Daschund wearing a sweater?  It’s fall in the PNW which means it’s sweater weather and well I just couldn’t resist making this cute card from the Baby Animals stamp set.

I actually used this stamp set as intended this time to welcome a sweet little one to the world.  Like I mentioned in a post earlier this week I am working my way thru my ever growing stash of paper packets – sometimes I think I’m just afraid for them to go away altogether because there aren’t many scraps to choose from.  I was in love from the get go with the Little Dreamer papers – they were just magical.  I’m sure it was from my childhood of loving and collecting unicorns, but I digress.

I chose to add an embossed panel using the Alphabet Embossing Folder.  I love the texture that it adds to the card and every baby needs to know it’s ABC’s.  The panel behind the stamped image is a PML card that has been cut to size.  Don’t discount the cute factor of the pocket scrapbooking cards that come in our paper packets for cards.

Even if you aren’t welcoming a new baby – these animals are so cute and the party hat just lends itself to a birthday or congratulations theme.

I hope you’ll take a minute to leave me a comment – whether it’s long or short I’m sure to appreciate it.

Better with a Friend – Stampganza

Happy Tuesday!  Better with a Friend is another retired Hostess Rewards set that has been brought back for Stampganza this month.

I love the girls in this set…two shoppers and a dog walker!  I knew right that I was reaching for the Little Dreamer paper pack and all it’s pinkness for this card. My Shin-Han touch twin markers made quick work of the coloring and what girl doesn’t love red shoes!

If you’d like to purchase the Better With A Friend stamp set you can find it here along with the other Stampganza stamps that were brought back for this special.

Thanks for stopping by…I hope you’ll take the opportunity to leave a comment.

Lots of Fun

So what are your thoughts on these cute little cards?  I think I’m going to pick a couple and show you how’d I’d use them in an upcoming post.  They are certainly quick and easy to make, a great way to use up scraps and I even experimented with combining some paper packs.

I’ve got more things to create so I will not be too wordy.

Thanks for stopping by…see you tomorrow with a new post for the Color My Heart Color Dare!

Sparkle, Shine Color Dare #245

Happy Friday!  It’s time for another Color My Heart Color Dare.  I can’t believe it’s our last challenge using the colors from our Little Dream paper packet.  The colors in this weeks challenge are:  Lemon, Tangerine, Blossom, Thistle, Glacier, Lagoon, White and Black.

I pulled out my paper pack and immediately saw this fun background from the PML cards included with the pack.  I love finding a use for these cards outside their intended use of pocket scrapbooking.

The cute cupcake from the Sweet Birthday stamp set and dies was colored with my Shin Han Markers – if you use your imagination the colors are still within the guidelines 😉

OK, now it’s YOUR turn!  The full details on how to join the fun is in the sidebar of our homepage.  Each color dare is open until 9:00 CDT on Thursday!

While at the homepage – check out what the other design team members have created and leave them a little love (comments make our day)!

So, what do you think of the changes the Design Team made to the Color Dare – focusing on the colors of one paper packet each month?  I’ve had a lot of fun sharing and hope that you’ll join us at the Color Dare this week.
