Sweet Tea

Welcome back…I trust you all had a good weekend?  Today is my hubby’s birthday and in honor of his Texas roots I wanted to bring you a little Sweet Tea!

Seriously, I never drank sweet tea until  his baby sister introduced me – it’s so much better when she makes it, so I always task her with the chore when she comes to my house!  I digress, you’re really here to see my card, right?

This little gem of a card was inspired by a couple of the cards I received in my Stamp of the Month Swap – I had wanted to find a use for that little tea tag, but it wasn’t coming to me right away (I guess that’s why I should participate in swaps more often).  Using the papers from the Sugar Rush Paper Packet led to using my watercolors on the tea cup and tea bag tag.  I’m still getting the hang of my watercolors, but I’m starting to like the natural blending that happens.  I then poked a little hole in the top of the tea bag and the top of the cup and just let it dangle. I loved the interaction it added to the card, but it wasn’t hanging just how I wanted so I eventually added a piece of 3D foam tape and popped it up.  See that banner of words – it’s one of the zip-strips from the paper packet.  NEVER overlook these…they are perfect to add as an embellishment to a card or scrapbook page and don’t cost you anything extra!

Make sure you get your March Stamp of the Month before it’s gone…it’s a Tea-riffic deal at just $5 with a qualifying purchase!

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you’ll take a minute and leave me a comment telling me if you like sweet tea?

Tea with Friends

It’s like a virtual tea party here on my blog this morning…

Each month my upline hosts  a Stamp of the Month swap sometimes I participate, sometimes I just kick myself for not.  This month I received four amazing cards and picked up an idea for a card of my own that will appear here next week!

Each of these cards is so different and that’s the really great thing about this stamp set, it goes with just about everything.

Make sure you get your Tea-riffic stamp set before the end of March – you can order it here.  Thanks for stopping by – see you soon!

Today’s card was made using the plain cup colored with the Shin Han Touch Twin markers and then I stamped the sentiment you are tea-rrific in Memento Ink.  The pretty floral background paper is from the Dreamin’ Big paper packet and the XO ribbon is from the Uptown Ribbon Pack.

Here’s the entire set of 11 stamps – make sure that you get yours before March leaves.

I’ll be back next week with some more fun artwork made using this stamp set.  Thanks for stopping by and sharing a bit of your Friday with me.  If you haven’t had a chance to visit the Stamp of the Month blog hop – grab a cup of tea and visit my blog where you can hop around for some more ideas.

I had a hard time deciding which stamp I wanted to feature from this set…I finally settled on the stacked cups which I colored brightly with the Shin Han Touch Twin markers.  I chose to use the Whimsy Fundamentals and matching ribbon for my card, I felt the soft water-colored design did not compete with my image.

I’ve had a lot of fun playing with this stamp set and later this month will be sharing some artwork that I received when I participated in the Stamp of the Month Swap hosted by my upline.  Leave me acomment and let me know if you’re a coffee or tea drinker!

Now “Hop” on over to Gina Brandstetter’s  Blog to see her work! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their Blogs to get some great crafting ideas and other fun ideas! Remember, the March SOTM is only available until 31st!  Contact your CTMH Consultant (or click here) to see how you can get this stamp set at a discount!
