Double Trouble – #64

It’s time for more trouble…Double Trouble Papercrafting Challenge that is.

Our challenge consists of three parts: Trouble Makers main challenge, Double Dares challenge to link with another blog which you may or may not decided to participate in and Twisted Sisters surprise challenge! You can find all the details on the rules page of the challenge blog.

This week the challenge is Let’s Brighten the Day with the Color My Heart Color Dare as our challenge partner.

My card started with one of my favorite patterns from the Make it From Your Heart and I chose a color palette of Charcoal, Glacier & Thistle from Love of Color. If you ever need a good color combination that is the place to go!

I hope you’ve enjoyed my card and will consider joining our challenge. If you’d like more inspiration visit my team members at Double Trouble and our partner team Color My Heart Color Dare.

TBT – Jubilee

It’s Thursday time for another throwback and I don’t even know how long ago this paper pack has been in my stash, but I will tell you – it must have been a favorite because it was barely used.

I paired the Jubilee paper with a large flower from the Girls Rock stamp set (also retired) for a fun birthday card.  I thought the Blue Burlap ribbon would be a fun accent to this very country themed card.

I wasn’t able to completely bust this stash of paper, but it’s fresh in my memory and will probably get used for some scrapbook pages soon!

A Million Feelings – Color Dare #301

Happy Friday and welcome to another week of the Color My Heart Color Dare.  This week we are featuring  the colors: Poppy, Lemon & Willow

Today my card features one of my favorite B&T papers from the Central Park collection.  The Willow paper just reminds me of a yard full of grass…it’s funny the feelings a paper can conjure up don’t you think!

There are two things about this card that I really thought I needed to share:

  1.   Although I started with a pattern from MIFYH (Make It From Your Heart) Vol 4, I’ve only used it as a starting point.  My sentiment square size was changed to fit my sentiment and I added a piece of Zip Strip across the bottom and then a circle with a second sentiment.  The Make It From Your Heart patterns can be used again and again either just as they are or as a jumping off point for your own creation.  People tell me time and time again that I can whip up a card in no time at all, by using these How To Books I put my card making into high gear.
  2. Let me call attention to that sentiment square again.  The Quotable Words (D1786) stamp set is sold as a scrapbook stamp set and sometimes I think card makers see “scrapbook” and turn their nose up – card makers are an elite group after-all 😉  Unfortunately I think you miss out a bit that way…a stamp is a stamp is a stamp!  It is in YOUR power to use them in any old way you want – don’t let a company paint you into a corner just because it says “scrapbook” or is in the scrapbook section of a catalog.

OK, now it’s YOUR turn!  The full details on how to join the fun is in the sidebar of our homepage.
