Are you blessed with someone special in your life? I could go on and on about the people that bless my life, but this one’s for my hubby!
I combined the September Stamp of the Month Blessed Beyond Measure with the Operation Smile stamp set True Love. Those bright new colors are from recently revamped Adventure Paper Fundamentals. I colored in the boy and girl with my Shin Han Touch Twin Markers and paper pieced the little boy’s balloons.
The September stamp of the month can be yours for just $5 US with a qualifying purchase. It’s a beautiful stamp set with leaves, pumpkins and the most gorgeous script sentiments. You can add it to your shopping cart by clicking here.
Don’t forget while you’re shopping to add the True Love stamp set to your cart too. For every stamp set sold, Close to My Heart will donate a portion of the proceeds to Operation Smile. I’m hoping to raise enough money to fund a smile this year and I’m well on my way! If you’d like to help my journey you can visit my website and make a donation there! There’s a little box on the checkout page for you to enter your donation.
Thanks for stopping by…I hope you’re enjoying the cooler weather of fall.
Happy Friday! It’s been a frantic week around the farm…lots of fun, lots of stamping! Have you played along with the Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge? Maybe this is your week? Color Dare #205 is a lovely combination to work with, Juniper, Thistle, Eggplant, Crystal Blue and White Daisy.
I love the simple card I designed for this week’s challenge.
My card is fashioned after the tag on page 66 of the new Annual Inspirations. I stamped my wreath in Juniper and then layered flowers cut from the new Flower Market Cricut Cartridge. Don’t let the name of this cartridge fool you, it is full of way more than flowers! The sentiment is from the new Operation Smile stamp set True Love.
This set of 9 needs to be added to your collection if for no other reason than Close to My Heart will donate $7 from every purchase to Operation Smile. I see lots of fun possibilities and plan on featuring it every month for the next year here on the blog.
Close to My Heart offers lots of opportunities to help change a child’s life with a smile – our exclusive stamp sets, t-shirts and of course rounding up your order! I’d like to see my customers help me fund at least one smile this year (as little as $240).
Thanks again for stopping by I hope you’ll hop over to the Color My Heart Color Dare Blog where you can see all the other design team members art it’s fantastic!
Happy Monday – I’m here again with more Stamp of the Month artwork as promised. I wanted to do something fun and different this week and maybe find a way to incorporate the Animal Greetings Operation Smile stamp set.
I thought and I thought and then it hit me…put the animals on the bus! When my son was a little guy (he’s 25 now) he had several Richard Scary books – his favorite was Busy Town. I can’t remember how many times we read it, but I remember all the animals in all the different vehicles so my card was born.
This card is a mere 3X6 – a sweet size for sticking in a backpack, briefcase or leaving under a pillow. The Calypso Papers are surely getting a workout this month too. It’s only available until the end of July so make sure you get what you might need to play with in the future.
Don’t you see so many possibilities with this stamp set? I’ll be back with another card next week, but with just 10 days left in June don’t let this stamp set get away from you! You can add it to a qualifying order for just $5…why not order yours today?
Wikipedia states that “among humans, smiling is an expression denoting pleasure, sociability, happiness, or amusement. It is distinct from a similar but usually involuntary expression of anxiety known as a grimace. Although cross-cultural studies have shown that smiling is a means of communication throughout the world, there are large differences between different cultures, with some using smiles to convey confusion or embarrassment.”
My darling husband has told me that my smile is what made him fall in love with me! I’ve had lots of people comment that I always have a smile on my face. When I can make someone else smile that makes me feel good, too!
Close to My Heart has partnered with Operation Smile, an international children’s medical charity that provides free-life changing surgeries to children with cleft lip, cleft palate and other facial deformities. For as little as $240 and 45 minutes a child’s cleft lip or cleft palate can be repaired. Will you help me raise funds to change the life of at least one child?

I was overwhelmed when it came to choices from the Seasonal Expressions 2 which product I wanted to showcase in this hop. I finally decided to let my heart do the speaking for me. I am featuring the new Operation Smile stamp set Happy Everything!
When you can change the life of a child by purchasing just one stamp set how can you go wrong? With each purchase of Happy Everything, Close to My Heart will donate $3.00 to Operation Smile, but that’s not the only way that you can help. We also give you the opportunity to round up your order – pennies add up to dollars and dollars add up to surgeries. Since it’s founding in 1982 Operation Smile has performed 220,000 surgeries to transform facial deformities in children. What difference are you willing to make? This stamp set features some fabulous sentiments along with the cutest little bee for a mere $17.95.
I had so much fun designing this card and wanted to focus on the hexagon shapes as accents. First I embossed the honey paper with the hexagon embossing folder and took my sanding block to it. I love our white core cardstock! I then punched the hexagon shapes into the white card stock and then stamped the bee with his little buzzing trail in black. To brighten up the front I stamped the sentiment in Honey ink and then colored in the bee with my Shin Han marker. I added a touch of glitter glue to the wings popped it all up with some 3D foam tape, stamped the inside for the finishing touch and tada I was done!
Now you can hop over to Chris Lothian’s Creative Capers to see what she has created.
Thanks again for stopping by. You can order your Happy Everything stamp from my webpage or from your local consultant and don’t forget to take a look at the daily grab bag specials too!
Over the years of being a Close to My Heart Consultant I have always encouraged my customers to “round up” to support Operation Smile and the year I came home from convention in Dallas I was determined that I was going to set a goal that I felt would be achievable for the next convention. Little did I know that my mom was going to die from Breast Cancer just 3 months later, which pretty much put my life into a tail spin – YES, raw emotion here, I was a mess! That goal was left unanswered, but not forgotten!
If you’ve never heard of Operation Smile®, it’s an organization that provides free, life-changing surgery that repairs smiles and reshapes lives, one child at a time. Since 2008, Close To My Heart has provided support to change the lives of over 1,500 children and their families. One surgery costs just $240 – it seems like a small amount if you realize that it’s less than 2 months of going without your morning Starbucks.
To reach my personal goal, I designed and decided to auction A Disney Album that would capture your smiles and help change the life of a child.
This is a 10 page 6 X 6 chipboard album with a plexi-glass cover and ring binding. It is decorated with chipboard and sticker accents and photo mats. On the page with the shaped photo mats (stars & filmstrip) adhesive has been applied to all sides, however it is only removed on one edge for ease of adding your photos.
Bids will be accepted through April 30th and start at $45 with all proceeds donated to Operation Smile. Bids will be accepted by e-mail only at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are overbid you will be notified and have the opportunity to raise the bid. Once the bidding process has been closed you will need to remit payment within 24 hours by PayPal and your album will be shipped via USPS Priority Shipping.
If you have any questions please contact me at email@example.com.
Thanks for spreading the word!
