If you are familiar with social media – you know that hashtags are a big deal, so I couldn’t resist using the #true love sentiment on this cute 4X4 card perfect for Valentine’s Day.
- (on social media sites such as Twitter) a word or phrase preceded by a hash or pound sign (#) and used to identify messages on a specific topic.
There is no doubt that I have fallen in love with the True Love Operation Smile stamp set. If you have not added this set to your collection, I really encourage you to – not just because it’s adorable, but because it benefits Operation Smile. Close To My Heart is donating seven dollars from the purchase of each True Love stamp set to Operation Smile.
I chose to start with a base of Raspberry which I embossed with the heart embossing folder (now retired) layered a piece of black cardstock and the image stamped on white daisy which I colored in with my ShinHan markers. I then stamped a scrap of white daisy with raspberry ink and used the new circle thin-cuts to cut it. I sponged the edges and popped it up with some 3D foam tape. Cute Valentine complete in less time than it took for you to read my blog today!
Since August 1st, 2016 – YOU, my customers have donated over $130 to help change the life of a child in personal donations and the purchase of this stamp set. I’ve decided to sweeten the pot a little further. When you purchase the True Love stamp set through my website from today thru February 13th I will match that $7 donation to Operation Smile. For as little as $240 you can provide a life changing smile in the life of a child.
Happy Friday and welcome to another week of the Color My Heart Color Dare. I hope that you all had a fabulous holiday and are ready to start creating with us again. This week we are featuring the colors: Colonial White, Cashmere, Champagne, Fern and Pomegranate.
I reached for the Operation Smile special stamp set, True Love to complete this card challenge. If you don’t have this stamp set – you really need to purchase it! Close to My Heart donates $7 of the purchase price of the True Love stamp set to Operation Smile. Put a smile on your face when you help change a life of a child.
My card base is Champagne cardstock layered with Fern Fundamentals and then a base of Pomegranate cardstock holds the image. The sentiment was stamped in Cashmere ink. My little guy was stamped in Memento ink and then colored with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers (I used the marker chart provided by Close to My Heart to match the colors). If you haven’t used our ShinHan markers I suggest watching this video.
OK, now it’s YOUR turn! The full details on how to join the fun is in the sidebar of our homepage. Each color dare is open until 9:00 CDT on Thursday!

This stamp set can be used for so many occasions and combined with our other stamps it seems as though it has endless possibilities. For this card I stamped the hugs and kisses (XOXO) stamp repeatedly to form my own B&T in Pixie and Glacier. I then layered two different patterns of B&T on a small square of Pixie CS, I stamped my favorite saying and popped it up along with the girl holding the heart which I colored with my Shin Han markers.
Operation Smile is an organization that provides free, life-changing surgeries that repairs smiles and changes lives one child at a time. A single surgery costs just $240, the sale of the special Operation Smile stamp set and other special merchandise along with rounding up your order are just a few ways that you can help make a difference. I’m proud to say that since June 2016 my customers have raised $138.33 towards a smile.

Are you blessed with someone special in your life? I could go on and on about the people that bless my life, but this one’s for my hubby!
I combined the September Stamp of the Month Blessed Beyond Measure with the Operation Smile stamp set True Love. Those bright new colors are from recently revamped Adventure Paper Fundamentals. I colored in the boy and girl with my Shin Han Touch Twin Markers and paper pieced the little boy’s balloons.
The September stamp of the month can be yours for just $5 US with a qualifying purchase. It’s a beautiful stamp set with leaves, pumpkins and the most gorgeous script sentiments. You can add it to your shopping cart by clicking here.
Don’t forget while you’re shopping to add the True Love stamp set to your cart too. For every stamp set sold, Close to My Heart will donate a portion of the proceeds to Operation Smile. I’m hoping to raise enough money to fund a smile this year and I’m well on my way! If you’d like to help my journey you can visit my website and make a donation there! There’s a little box on the checkout page for you to enter your donation.
Thanks for stopping by…I hope you’re enjoying the cooler weather of fall.
Happy Friday! It’s been a frantic week around the farm…lots of fun, lots of stamping! Have you played along with the Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge? Maybe this is your week? Color Dare #205 is a lovely combination to work with, Juniper, Thistle, Eggplant, Crystal Blue and White Daisy.
I love the simple card I designed for this week’s challenge.
My card is fashioned after the tag on page 66 of the new Annual Inspirations. I stamped my wreath in Juniper and then layered flowers cut from the new Flower Market Cricut Cartridge. Don’t let the name of this cartridge fool you, it is full of way more than flowers! The sentiment is from the new Operation Smile stamp set True Love.
This set of 9 needs to be added to your collection if for no other reason than Close to My Heart will donate $7 from every purchase to Operation Smile. I see lots of fun possibilities and plan on featuring it every month for the next year here on the blog.
Close to My Heart offers lots of opportunities to help change a child’s life with a smile – our exclusive stamp sets, t-shirts and of course rounding up your order! I’d like to see my customers help me fund at least one smile this year (as little as $240).
Thanks again for stopping by I hope you’ll hop over to the Color My Heart Color Dare Blog where you can see all the other design team members art it’s fantastic!
Happy Monday – I’m here again with more Stamp of the Month artwork as promised. I wanted to do something fun and different this week and maybe find a way to incorporate the Animal Greetings Operation Smile stamp set.
I thought and I thought and then it hit me…put the animals on the bus! When my son was a little guy (he’s 25 now) he had several Richard Scary books – his favorite was Busy Town. I can’t remember how many times we read it, but I remember all the animals in all the different vehicles so my card was born.
This card is a mere 3X6 – a sweet size for sticking in a backpack, briefcase or leaving under a pillow. The Calypso Papers are surely getting a workout this month too. It’s only available until the end of July so make sure you get what you might need to play with in the future.
Don’t you see so many possibilities with this stamp set? I’ll be back with another card next week, but with just 10 days left in June don’t let this stamp set get away from you! You can add it to a qualifying order for just $5…why not order yours today?
Wikipedia states that “among humans, smiling is an expression denoting pleasure, sociability, happiness, or amusement. It is distinct from a similar but usually involuntary expression of anxiety known as a grimace. Although cross-cultural studies have shown that smiling is a means of communication throughout the world, there are large differences between different cultures, with some using smiles to convey confusion or embarrassment.”
My darling husband has told me that my smile is what made him fall in love with me! I’ve had lots of people comment that I always have a smile on my face. When I can make someone else smile that makes me feel good, too!
Close to My Heart has partnered with Operation Smile, an international children’s medical charity that provides free-life changing surgeries to children with cleft lip, cleft palate and other facial deformities. For as little as $240 and 45 minutes a child’s cleft lip or cleft palate can be repaired. Will you help me raise funds to change the life of at least one child?
