Double Trouble #20

It’s time for more trouble…but this challenge we are reminding you to spread some peace, love and kindness as you create! It’s National Hugging Week – now that’s one that I can get after!

Trouble Maker says Love Is in the Air – create a project using something you’d find in the air – balloons, banners, sunshine, clouds, birds, etc.

Twisted sister says you can’t have love without a little sparkle – her optional challenge is to use some glitter, Nuvo drops, something metalic or anything sparkly & shiny!

My card features a Hot Air Balloon cut from the Cricut that I’ve touched with some Shimmer Brush for a little sparkle. I just happened to have the Hugs For You cardmaking kit stamp set sitting on my desk so guess what sentiment I used, LOL!

Don’t forget that Double Dare says if you meet the Sparkle & Shine elements that you can link your card to the Paper Girls here.

I hope you’ll come and play along…it’s a lot of work to coordinate these challenges and we love seeing your entries!

September SOTM meets Color Dare #311

It’s Color Dare Friday and here’s the 3-1-1 actually it’s challenge #311, but I’m feeling a tad giddy after struggling with these colors to get a card that I’m really in love with.

If you’d like to create with us this week, reach for all things Saffron, Peacock & Ballerina with an option of adding Gold.

If you haven’t added the September Stamp of the Month to your order yet this month, don’t wait a minute longer – if this is the only stamp set you buy this fall you will still be set to create all the way up to Christmas!

Thin-Cut Hello – Color Dare #310

Happy Friday!  This week I have a little Color My Heart Color Dare Tracey Trivia:  The Color My Heart Color Dare challenge was founded in 2011 by Sarah Stone – Sarah is no longer a design team member, however she still participates on a fairly regular basis.  I first participated in the Color Dare in April of 2015, I was too late to actually link up my card (time zones used to give me hives) but I stuck around and my first official entry was #143 – the challenge was black, white & gold and you can find that card here.  I was an Emerald Winner with that challenge and I guess you could say that being a winner brought me back.  My first Guest Appearance as a Design Team member happened on May 28, 2015.  Pretty much from that point on I’ve been hooked…sure I’ve taken a break now and then, but my first love is the Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge.

Why am I telling you this?  Lately “the Color Dare” has been lacking participants…we aren’t sure if it’s summer, back to school or that suddenly everyone has quit stamping (gasp)!  This week is the perfect week to get started – or come back – really what do you have to lose?

Basically the rules are pretty simple – you create with a color combination that we provide (if you don’t have the exact colors get them close) – in the Close to My Heart World this weeks colors are:  Ruby, Peacock & Kraft.  In the Stampin’ Up World your colors might resemble:  Cherry Cobbler, Tranquil Tide & Crumb Cake.  The point is there are some options.  This challenge is not affiliated with Close to My Heart although there are lots of consultants on the Design Team.

So, are you ready to get started?  I am!

I love Kraft cardstock – I think it’s an amazing neutral and probably a little because it reminds me of days before plastic bags at the grocery store (I still ask for paper). I saw a super cute card on Pinterest and although I didn’t have the exact same dies it gave me a fun idea for a card anyway.

Everything on my card was die cut using Close to My Heart Thin Cuts – except the thin red strip (1/8 inch to be exact) and then adhered to the front of the card.

So, now it’s your turn…the full details on how to join the fun is in the sidebar of our homepage.  Each color dare is open for two weeks won’t you please come play along.

For the Love of Crafting – Color Dare #304

Happy Friday and welcome to another week of the Color My Heart Color Dare.  This week we are featuring  the colors: Eggplant, Linen and Peacock.

I chose to pair the August Stamp of the Month, For the Love of Crafting, with the Fundamentals in Eggplant & Peacock.  My typewriter was stamped directly onto the Linen cardstock.  The sentiment was also stamped on Linen, but I fussy cut them (can you believe it) so I could pop them up individually.  Do you know what card kit this pattern was from?  The first one to tell me will get this card in the mail.

OK, now it’s YOUR turn!  The full details on how to join the fun is in the sidebar of our homepage.  Each color dare is open for two weeks so you have plenty of time to play!Image may contain: text

Just Peacock

Do you have a favorite color from the Close to My Heart palette? Mine (today anyway) has got to be Peacock.

It’s a great blue/green that mixes nicely with other colors (especially Bashful) but in the case of this card stands nicely all alone.

I hope you’ll take a minute to leave me a comment with your favorite color.

Dreams – Color Dare 256

Happy Friday and welcome to another week of the Color My Heart Color Dare.  This week we are featuring  the colors: Juniper, Peacock, Pomegranate, Black & White Daisy

I was a bit delayed in getting a graduation card/gift off to my husband’s nephew, but I think I was really just waiting for the right stamp set to come along.  I loved this sentiment stamp that comes with the new Cricut cartridge.  It can be used for so many reasons.  I also used one of my MFT Blue Prints Dies for my card.  Looking at my card again I see some changes I want to make with the next one so you’ll be seeing a repeat of this pattern soon.

OK, now it’s YOUR turn!  The full details on how to join the fun is in the sidebar of our homepage.  Each color dare is open until 9:00 CDT on Thursday!

Time to Party – Color Dare #238

Happy Friday and welcome to another week of the Color My Heart Color Dare.  This week we are featuring  the colors: Peacock, Willow and White Daisy.

As you might have imagined the first thing I thought of when I saw this combination was football…not just any football, but Seahawks football.  It would really have been better if the Peacock was Pacifica, but I’ll compromise.

I had a lot of fun with this card.  It’s a 5X7 football invitation.  The time to party sentiment is taken from the Cricut Flower Market collection.  Close to My Heart’s clear stamps make it so easy to divide your images into different colors – here the Time To was inked in Willow and then Party was inked in Peacock – a little huff on the stamp and it was ready to go.  The cute invitation set was sitting on my desk – it’s an exclusive consultant stamp, but was too perfect not to use.

OK, now it’s YOUR turn!  The full details on how to join the fun is in the sidebar of our homepage.  Each color dare is open until 9:00 CDT on Thursday!
