Welcome back to another Color My Heart Color Dare challenge. This week we are challenging you to use Black, Thistle, Pear and White Daisy in your creations.
I think I’m stuck on Halloween this year – those cute little monsters really grabbed my heart, but since my birthday card stash is a bit low I decided to reach for birthday stamps instead.
My card makes use of the new Uptown Fundamental and Whimsy Fundamental paper packets. I found some new sketches to try over on Pinterest, I usually stick to our pattern books, but this pattern looked fun. If you’ve followed me for any length of time you know that I’m bow challenged so I want to again share a “stamping technique” that I learned from The Wizards Hangout. You see that bow is actually formed from the button and piece of twine – Vicki has complete instructions on her blog if you click on the link to The Wizards Hangout you’ll be taken right to the instructions and of course an adorable card.
I’m going to link up to the following challenges:
Do you have any fun challenges that you participate in? Leave me a comment with the link to the challenge blog and I’ll come check it out.
Thanks for stopping by remember to link up your creations at Color My Heart Color Dare before Thursday.
Welcome to another Friday at the Color My Heart Color Dare! Remember 9 challenges ago when we celebrated turning 200 and the grand prize was a chance to pick your own color challenge! Well, here it is Color Dare 209 is Lisa’s winning Color Combo – Gold, Sorbet, Pomegranate, Pear, Black and White Daisy!
My initial thought when I saw these colors was “you’ve got to be kidding me”, but once I started pulling out papers I realized that I really liked them together.
All of the B&T papers our from our newly designed Fundamentals line mounted on Black cardstock mounted to a card base. The Gold Glitter Strip runs the width of the card and is topped off by a sentiment stamped in Pear and Black mounted on Pear cardstock. To finish it off I added three Green Enamel triangles.
I hope you’ll jump over to the Color Dare’s blog and take a look what the other Design Team Members have created. I also have high hopes that you’ll take a few minutes to participate. You don’t even have to have a blog to enter – PINTEREST works just fine!
Thanks for stopping by…leave me a comment about what you think about these colors.
Have a great Labor Day Weekend!
OK, I admit it I have become a football girl! I knew NOTHING about this sport other than I wasn’t going to let me son play it when I started dating my Wrangler Wearing Sweetheart. A few times watching his grandson on the grid-iron and I was hooked. It probably helps that the Seahawks have had a few successful seasons lately too!
I decided to work on some fun invites today for a football themed party. This would work great for a little boys birthday don’t you think? Of course I used my favorite teams colors – Sapphire and Pear!
I loosely used the sketch from the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge (sometimes you just have to make it your own) for my card. I’m also entering my sketch in the Between the Folds Challenge #26B (to use a Cricut Cut)
Do you have a football lover in your life? This fun stamp set is retiring at the end of July so you only have a few more days to add it to your collection.
Thanks for stopping by…go ‘Hawks!
The Color My Heart Color Dare had one of my favorite color combos this week. Pear, Lagoon, Crystal Blue and Thistle.
I already had my card in my head when I got an email that said I’d been selected to join the Color Dare as a Design Team member starting in July.
I loved this Firework Fun stamp set, but wanted to feature it in something other than the traditional red, white and blue.
My 6×6 card is from the Originals Card Confidence Program – On The Side. Do you use our pattern books? I love them!
Thanks for stopping by, take a minute to go visit the color dare and share what you can do with these fun colors!
I spent a lovely 4 days on the Oregon Coast, but it was back to my happy place this morning when I made enough room on my craft desk to sit down and make a birthday card for my aunt!
I decided that I was going to go for the gusto with this card and combine the #jrlcreativechallenge with Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #107 and Color My Heart Color Date #142.
I started with pulling all the ink pads of the color dare out of my organizer so I didn’t forget anything. I decided to use the Lagoon cardstock for a base and used both the Zig Zag and Dot embossing folders to give it texture. With the base for the AHSC being 4 separate pieces this came together in a fun way.
I then stamped the flowers and leaves from the Lovely Birthday stamp set in Pear, Glacier and Sunset, embossed them with the dots folder for texture and then fussy cut them. I had a Smoothie Mini-Medley Accessory Kit left (I knew there was a reason I hoarded things) and pulled a button out to add to the stamped sentiment banner. I also added sparkles to the flower centers and the vine because a little bling never hurt anything!
Don’t forget to make the inside pretty too…in this case I added a matching flower to the lower corner.
Thanks for stopping by today…it’s good to be home and crafting again!
I spent the better part of my day putting together a layout for the Stamp of the Month swap coming up on May 1st and ordering pictures from Studio J to go on that layout along with planning a birthday layout for Miss B and ordering pictures for that I am about to go cross eyed from looking at pictures on the computer, but then I got a phone call that I hadn’t posted a card today which made the guilt set in.
You’d think the caller thought I was hitting the coconut tequila or something! It really does make a yummy drink and since I was thinking about the beach…
Since the Seaside Scrapbook Workshop On the Go was within reach I decided I could whip out one little card and I think I even got everything straight, LOL!
This is just a 4.75 X 3 inch card, perfect to stick on a package for a summer birthday or maybe to write some romantic note in to my DH for a fantastic weekend at the beach and how much I appreciate him.
I matched the ink to the paper, Pear, Smoothie and Desert Sand tied on a piece of hemp and stuck on some Aqua Dots. Card done and posted to blog…now onto that Coconut Tequila!
