I’m starting my morning much like I started yesterday only much earlier – it’s only 4:30am and I’ve been in The Coop for an hour and a half after not being able to sleep since midnight (may as well let hubby sleep instead of keeping him awake with my tossing and turning).
Yesterday morning I stopped by the Heart 2 Heart Challenge and learned about their Pumpkin Spice challenge – the last one of October – their actually keeping the date open until Saturday, November 3rd. My plans to participate yesterday were a little derailed, but here I am ready now to participate.
I love fall…the rich colors of the leaves, cooler weather and it’s holiday season! I’m not much of a Pumpkin Spice Girl – however I do like pumpkin pie. Do you? I’ve found it’s either a love it or hate it kind of thing. I used to tell my mom that it was great for breakfast and I was getting my serving of vegetables out of the way.
OK, ok, the card! I loved this PML card that was in the Grateful Heart paper packet. I stamped the Hello Friend stamp from the coordinating stamp set and layered it on New England Ivy CS which was then layered on Fern and finally the Saffron B&T from the same paper packet. I used some retired NEI Twine for a simple accent.
If you get some time stop by the Heart 2 Heart Challenges – they have a new challenge weekly, but allow you to link up the entire month so even if week 1 doesn’t work, but you like the challenge you still have time to play!
Thanks for stopping by!
Last week I mentioned that you could use the PML (Picture My Life) cards for so much more than just pocket scrapbooking. Not only are they perfect for traditional scrapbooking, but they make great focal points on your cards.
Just by adding some B&T papers, banners, ribbon, twine a few bronze sequins you can transform the PML cards into some beautiful cards. Although I used all the Falling For You PML cards as focus points on these cards you can cut them down and use them in whatever pattern you’d like. I’ll post some additional ideas for using them later this week.
Remember to experiment with your papers and put every last square inch to use. I appreciate you taking the time to stop by today, I hope you’ll tell me what your favorite paper pack and PML card set is and how you used them.
I’m gearing up for the annual Close to My Heart convention and am getting so excited. We always have a big team meeting the night before and pick up hints and tips from our team members and leaders. This year we were asked to create 3X4 PML style cards. A flat card that can be added to a layout or card that we will swap at our meeting.
I agonized over my card. I wanted something that would wow, but not be too difficult to put together as it’s suggested we bring 25-100.
While on Instagram I found this amazing card by Rachel Stribling a sister consultant from Australia. I knew immediately that I was going to re-create it for my swap card.
The blue and white stripe is from the No Worries paper pack and the flower and vine is Key F of the Artiste Cricut cartridge.
I can’t wait to show you what I swap in return. Thanks for sharing a little piece of your morning with me.
Happy Friday and welcome to another week of the Color My Heart Color Dare. This week we are featuring the colors of Swan Lake:
Now that’s a stack of colors…I will admit I’ve had a hard time falling in love with this paper packet, but as the month has progressed and our summer weather has turned to fall and my thoughts have turned to Thanksgiving planning it’s begun to grow on me.
I decided that I wanted to play with the Picture My Life Cards that come with this paper packet and I didn’t quite get all the colors of the challenge included (I’m sure you’ll do better.) I love the bold hello with the subtle leaves. I trimmed the PML card from it’s 4X6 size so that it would fit on a standard card base. The PML card was mounted a little off center on a piece of the Glacier B&T from Swan Lake…I’m going to force myself to use those swan papers, but I’m not quite there yet. I trimmed a couple of zip strips into banners and mounted them along with some gold foil tape. I love finishing things off with our sequins – they are flat and mail nicely.
OK, now it’s YOUR turn! The full details on how to join the fun is in the sidebar of our homepage. Each color dare is open until 9:00 CDT on Thursday! While at the homepage – check out what the other design team members have created and leave them a little love (comments make our day)!
Have you ever used Picture My Life Cards on your cards ? Thank you for stopping by see you soon!
