Fall Leaves – Color Dare #317

Happy Friday!  This week the Color My Heart Color Dare is featuring  the colors: Pomegranate, Sapphire, Saffron and Gold.

Recently we took a Sunday drive with friends along Chuckanut drive in Northwest Washington to see the fall colors which inspired me to recreate the memories on a card.

I used papers from the Grateful Heart paper packet and the November Stamp of the Month Seasonal Trees.  I love the trees with the accents of leaves, branches, bird nests, bird houses and ornaments…you just have to check it out!

OK, now it’s YOUR turn!  The full details on how to join the fun is in the sidebar of our homepage.  Each color dare is open until 9:00 CDT on Thursday!

Kindness – Color Dare #296

Already one week into June…time needs to S-L-O-W down!

This week the Color My Heart Color Dare Design Team is featuring the colors Toffee, Juniper and Pomegranate.  Such pretty colors to work with.

I’m trying to build my stash of thank you and birthday cards, but it seems like it’s a never ending battle!  Like I said last week I really like the In My Heart card making kit sentiments so here I am again with a different layout.  The wood panel at the bottom of the card might be a far stretch at Toffee, but I just had to use it.  I also stamped the small THANKS banner in Toffee and cut it out and layered it over a piece of wood-grain banner which I stamped in Juniper and then trimmed.  I tied a little bit of Juniper Thick Twine into a knot and frayed the ends to add some dimension.

Now it’s your turn to come play along.  You’ll find the rules for the Color Dare here.  When you visit our home page – make sure you visit each of the Design Teams pages and leave them a comment.  We each work hard to bring you lots of inspiration each week and it’s nice to get some “love”.

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Friday and welcome to another week of the Color My Heart Color Dare.  This week we are featuring  the colors: Bashful, Pomegranate, White Daisy, Black and Optional Silver.

No automatic alt text available.

I love this color combination, oh who am I kidding I love all the Color Dare combinations, however using Bashful just seems to make this one a tad more special – after all it is the Color of the Year!

Oh yes, that hello die cut from glitter paper is making it’s appearance once again in a Color Dare Challenge.  My card front uses the “light” side of the Bashful cardstock with a layer of Pomegranate B&T from the Adventure Fundamentals packet I then layered a piece of Bashful Glitter paper onto Black cardstock and layered it at an angle – black dots finish off the card.

OK, now it’s YOUR turn!  The full details on how to join the fun is in the sidebar of our homepage.  Each color dare is open for two weeks to give you plenty of time to link up!

Dreams – Color Dare 256

Happy Friday and welcome to another week of the Color My Heart Color Dare.  This week we are featuring  the colors: Juniper, Peacock, Pomegranate, Black & White Daisy

I was a bit delayed in getting a graduation card/gift off to my husband’s nephew, but I think I was really just waiting for the right stamp set to come along.  I loved this sentiment stamp that comes with the new Cricut cartridge.  It can be used for so many reasons.  I also used one of my MFT Blue Prints Dies for my card.  Looking at my card again I see some changes I want to make with the next one so you’ll be seeing a repeat of this pattern soon.

OK, now it’s YOUR turn!  The full details on how to join the fun is in the sidebar of our homepage.  Each color dare is open until 9:00 CDT on Thursday!

It’s Lisa’s Challenge – Color Dare #209

Welcome to another Friday at the Color My Heart Color Dare!  Remember 9 challenges ago when we celebrated turning 200 and the grand prize was a chance to pick your own color challenge!  Well, here it is Color Dare 209 is Lisa’s winning Color Combo – Gold, Sorbet, Pomegranate, Pear, Black and White Daisy!

My initial thought when I saw these colors was “you’ve got to be kidding me”, but once I started pulling out papers I realized that I really liked them together.

All of the B&T papers our from our newly designed Fundamentals line mounted on Black cardstock mounted to a card base.  The Gold Glitter Strip runs the width of the card and is topped off by a sentiment stamped in Pear and Black mounted on Pear cardstock.  To finish it off I added three Green Enamel triangles.

I hope you’ll jump over to the Color Dare’s blog and take a look what the other Design Team Members have created.  I also have high hopes that you’ll take a few minutes to participate.  You don’t even have to have a blog to enter – PINTEREST works just fine!

Thanks for stopping by…leave me a comment about what you think about these colors.

Have a great Labor Day Weekend!

What’s Black & White and Red All Over?

It’s my entry for this week’s Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge!  I’ve spent all week thinking about what I wanted to do as it’s a very special challenge when the Color Dare #180 teamed up with the group at Heart 2 Heart Challenges with a Share the Love, Black White and Red Challenge.

Of course I knew I’d be reaching for the ever popular La Vie En Rose paper, but which one – 4 different patterns of course!  I love our double sided B&T you have twice the options!  Then I had to decide which red – Pomegranate was an easy choice as the complements were right on top of a pile of embellishments on my desk.

I sometimes wished that you could see me as I pull together an idea for a card – I seem to always pull the components and then figure out how to put them together.  The putting together step usually involves one of the “how to” books and today I reached for Originals.  I chose the Puzzle Backdrop on p91 and with a few tweaks made it my own.  I love how the bow and hearts from the complements pack gives my card a little pop!

I appreciate you stopping by and hope you’ll hop on over to both the Color Dare and Heart 2 Heart Challenge and take a look at all the amazing entries.

Gone Batty Again!

It seems ever since I found this Cricut cut on the Artiste cartridge every year it makes at least one Halloween card to fill my list.  This year I fell in love with the example in the Holiday Expressions catalog so I did my best at replicating it with the stamps I have.  I LOVE the new Little Monsters stamp set, however after doing a quick inventory of the Halloween stamps that I have on hand decided to pass (at least for now).

I cut my bat twice – once in Black and again 1/4″ smaller in Thistle cut off the wings and mounted them to the front.  I then hand doodled on some stitching with my journaling pen.  I chose a stamp from Perfect Fit Halloween and mounted it over a piece of a Zip Strip from the Nevermore paper packet that was sitting on my desk and added a black swirl sparkle from my stash.

For the inside I layered White C/S sponged with Pomegranate (it looked like blood to me) stamped Happy Halloween and the bat from Frightfully Fun.

I’m not sure if it’s just because he’s my husband, but he told me that he liked it better than the sample in the catalog.

Now to remember who got my bat card last year.
