Today I want to introduce you to my niece Stephanie (some of you already know her from card class) – she’s a devoted wife, busy mom of two, works part time outside the home and also helps her husband with his new cabinet business (she’s a mean face frame maker), she is on the board of her kids basketball association, is an amazing home decorator and loves cardmaking & scrapbooking. Did I mention she’s my niece (more like a daughter)?
Stephanie is also a brand new subscriber to Craft with Heart. Craft with Heart is a brand new subscription program from Close to My Heart featuring Cut-Above Layout Kits. Each layout kit comes ready to assemble with pre-cut paper pieces, die-cuts, stickers, Memory Protectors™ and instructions.
There are three options for the subscription program. Stephanie chose the one year plan for the best discount – she’ll get four layout kits every 4 months along with 30 free prints from Persnickity Prints.
30 free prints from Persnickety Prints, every 4 months
All subscriptions renew automatically. Cancel anytime.
Stephanie received layouts for September, October, November & December. The kits although they coordinate with current paper packets are not available other than through the subscription program.
Stephanie couldn’t wait to get started (look at that concentration) She loves putting kits together because of the time saving and “no thought” factors.
Look at that smile as she puts the finishing touches on her completed layout – the entire layout took her less than an hour to complete. She promises to share her completed layouts (with pictures) right here.
If you’d like to subscribe to Craft with Heart you can find more information on my webpage. As an added bonus when you subscribe to Craft with Heart you’ll be invited to an exclusive Day in the Coop to assemble your kits.
I hope you’ll consider this new subscription program to keep your creativity flowing and preserve your memories. Crafters of all ages and skill levels can create completed layouts for their photos and memories.
This year I decided to participate in the One Little Word workshop by Ali Edwards. I chose my 2017 word “BE” a verb meaning to exist or occur. I took a few minutes today to create a quick scrapbook layout titled “Be Happy” because that is my main goal this year.
I loved the combination of Blossom, Raspberry and Lagoon that was used on this layout in the Annual Inspirations and decided that I would recreate it to record a couple of “Happy” memories. The Adventure Fundamentals and Good Life Complements made quick work of this single page layout.
If you’ve been following me on Instagram you’ll already know that I have a new calf on the farm. Unfortunately, Chip’s mom has no motherly instincts so I’ve been doing bottle feeding since Sunday. Although it’s a sad situation it did make me happy and is something I won’t soon forget.
I decided that I was actually going to finish these layouts before moving on to another project…it’s killing me since I have brand new things to play with from Seasonal Expressions 2. I also have taxes to get to the CPA by Friday, lunch with my mother-in-law today and a mani/pedi tomorrow!
This first layout from the Album Retreat is probably one of my favorites. The colors are pretty non-traditional Christmas colors. I love the Just Chillin’ title which was cut from the Artbooking Cricut cartridge. Miss H is the only child I know that has never been afraid of Santa and we always have perfect pictures from the big visit.
My final layout for today is a Real Life Story of Papa and Grandma taking a little girl for a week on the Oregon Coast and living to tell about it. Seriously, it was an awesome trip and she was such a good traveler. I love that this page will give me plenty of room to tell about it with it’s journalling area.
Thanks for stopping by today…I hope my glimpse of scrapbooking has inspired you to record some of your own memories.
A year to the month after my mom died, Close to My Heart hosted an Album Retreat in Salt Lake City and I thought it was the perfect place to heal my heart. I was wrong. I spent a terrific 5 days exploring the surroundings of SLC, however my heart was not into scrapbooking. Do I regret the trip…not one bit! I came home with all the pieces to assemble a terrific album including full color instructions.
Fast forward 17 months…I’m putting those terrific pages together.
I had plenty of time to look at the layouts, figure out what pictures I wanted to use and I’ve started. These pages feature lots of cuts from the Artbooking Cricut Cartridge.
I love the detail that has gone into these pages and although I didn’t design them they still feel like my pages. I’m sure that I will recreate the layouts using other images from the same cartridge.
Through the years my scrapbooking has evolved…I cringe when I look at some of the first pages I did in my son’s album 20 plus years ago, but then I look at the plain boring photo album that my mom put together for me – no journaling, no pretty paper, just photos in pockets. Yes, pocket scrapbooking was apparently popular way back then too!
Thanks for stopping by…I’m heading back to the craft room so I have some more to share later this week.
