As I’ve mentioned before I can never seem to get ahead on my birthday stash!
Big Family + Special Friends = Huge Birthday List
Both are priceless in my opinion because they lend for plenty of time to use the excuse “I HAVE to stamp”, which also means that I can incorporate a challenge here and there!
This week Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #116 and Color Dare #151 got me back in the swing of things with this clean and simple base for a birthday card. The Glacier, Lagoon, Pear, Hollyhock, Sorbet, Dessert Sand and Colonial White of the Seaside Papers are a muted palette for a summer time card. In place of the floral on the sketch from AHSC I chose to use a large butterfly. This sketch is definitely going in my “keepers” book I see so many possibilities!
Although it is so hard to see in pictures, I outlined the butterfly with Wink of Stella on the front and decorated the inside with additional butterflies and the Dream Big sentiment. The butterflies on the inside were also layered with Wink of Stella.

Now, let’s get started!
I decided to feature a “joyfold” card. My BFF will be celebrating her birthday while I’m attending the CTMH convention so I wanted to make sure her card was extra special (she’s already mad at me for running off to Disneyland without her). I love this fold because it’s SUPER simple and packs some punch. I used the Seaside Papers because stripes and polka dots just seemed like “happy” papers to me.
This first photo shows the card closed, I actually paper pieced the balloon and covered it in Wink of Stella (thank you Wendy for introducing this stuff to me!) I stamped it half off the page and then stamped it again in the smoothie cardstock and cut out the balloon and used some thin 3D foam tape to give it a little lift. The cute little arrow in the lower corner has been rattling around in my accessories bin for a long time and it felt so good to finally use it.
This collage of photos shows what the card looks like when you open it up! On the inside I stamped the balloon again and this time colored it with Shin Han Markers before giving it several coats of Wink of Stella. The last photo in the grouping shows you just how much shimmer those balloons have!
I appreciate you taking the time to stop and take a look at my project…I’d love it if you left me a comment with your thoughts, I do take the time to read each and everyone of them (and I think I’ve finally got all the verifications turned off so you don’t have to prove that you aren’t a robot). Make sure that you continue through the entire hop, there are such a talented group of ladies sharing their art…next stop Tina Lovell’s Blog to see what Happy Things she has created.

I chose to use the Seaside Papers to create a layout of a fun weekend at Ocean Shores with my hubby. The left page is copied directly from the Seaside WOTG, however I wanted to include more pictures on the left side of the page so I turned to the Make It From Your Heart Volume 1 and found layout 09 for my right hand page. The banners carried over to tie the two pages together. I was hoping that my photos would arrive from Studio J in time to post, but have no fear you can have a mental image of me on a pink moped until they arrive and I get the photos updated.
The May Stamp of the Month has such great accent pieces for a scrapbook pages. I stamped the Enjoy the Moment in Pear ink, fussy cut it and tucked it behind the photo mat. I also stamped the “date” in black on the pennant and then hand wrote in the date. I can see this stamp getting lots of use.
Now “Hop” on over to the Paperheartist to see Tamytha’s fabulous work! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their Blogs to get some great crafting ideas and other fun ideas!
Remember, the May SOTM is only available until May 31st! Contact your CTMH Consultant (or click here) to see how you can get this stamp set at a discount!
As usual, I have way more pictures to scrapbook than I have time for. I love that Studio J gives me the opportunity to make 12 X 12 scrapbook pages that combine perfectly with my traditional pages. While I was getting ready to print pictures for my layouts I took some time to do a few digital layouts as well.
Last October, we took Jeremy and Brooke to Fort Casey on Whidbey Island for the first time. It was fun to see the interaction between uncle and niece.
If you’d like to catch up your scrapbooks give me a call or drop me an e-mail, I’ve got lots of fun solutions for you!

I spent the better part of my day putting together a layout for the Stamp of the Month swap coming up on May 1st and ordering pictures from Studio J to go on that layout along with planning a birthday layout for Miss B and ordering pictures for that I am about to go cross eyed from looking at pictures on the computer, but then I got a phone call that I hadn’t posted a card today which made the guilt set in.
You’d think the caller thought I was hitting the coconut tequila or something! It really does make a yummy drink and since I was thinking about the beach…
Since the Seaside Scrapbook Workshop On the Go was within reach I decided I could whip out one little card and I think I even got everything straight, LOL!
This is just a 4.75 X 3 inch card, perfect to stick on a package for a summer birthday or maybe to write some romantic note in to my DH for a fantastic weekend at the beach and how much I appreciate him.
I matched the ink to the paper, Pear, Smoothie and Desert Sand tied on a piece of hemp and stuck on some Aqua Dots. Card done and posted to blog…now onto that Coconut Tequila!

What a week!! I was worried that I wasn’t going to find time to get into the craft room and work on my card for the 100th sketch over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge, but building a window box with granddad became a priority so I snuck into the craft room this afternoon and “built” a card based on this sketch!
I have just been dying to play with new things so today’s card is a sneak peak into Seasonal Expressions 2. The Treats of Friendship stamp was one of my favorite stamp sets. I love the “punny” sayings. The paper is from the Seaside paper packet. I love the colors and tried to color my donuts similarly with the Shin Han markers.
Of course no card is complete without a little treat on the inside.
I made this card for my favorite barista…I’ve been dying to introduce her to Close To My Heart and “I donut what I’d do without her”.
