I just can’t seem to get enough of the cute little Hedgehog in the Hedge-Hugs stamp set. I’m sure if you purchase it you’ll find yourself reaching for it over and over again. All the cards I’ve made with him have just put a smile on my face (and hopefully of those that receive them) Remember when you purchase the stamp set during the month of October I will give you two kits to make a couple of adorable cards with.
As I promised last week, I have a fun new technique for coloring this little guy and I’m going to show you step by step just how easy it is.
First you stamp your Hedgehog on your desired piece of paper – here I used Espresso on a linen square. I love the linen as it’s not quite as stark white as our white daisy cardstock.
Next you’ll flip your stamp over on your block (clean it first) so that the textured side is towards the block. He doesn’t stick very well so really squish his tummy onto the acrylic block. I then inked it up with Almond ink and stamped right over the top of the Espresso.
This is the colored hedgehog…isn’t his little white tummy just the cutest?
And finally – here’s the finished card…because that’s really the part you came for right?
The season’s mix-in’s papers include this fun Ballerina plaid paper – it’s so soft and girly!!! I stamped the little hearts and confetti in Ballerina, Sugarplum and Carolina Blue and then die cut a heart to mount over the string. It turned out just how I wanted!!!
Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you’ve enjoyed this new technique for coloring the hedgehog. It doesn’t hurt the stamp at all!!
