Welcome to the Joyful Stars August Blog Hop! If you’re coming here from my friend Michelle Loncar’s blog you are on the right path, but if you are starting here that’s ok too – we are a circular hop and if you follow the links you’ll hop right on around and end up right back where you started.
Wow has August been hot! First it’s the first month of the brand new Close to My Heart Annual Idea book and Seattle with 45+ days without rain…I don’t know about where you are from, but this girl is about to wilt. I’ve been spending lots of time in my craft room playing with new supplies – yes, it’s got A/C!!!
I wanted to introduce you to the brand new Color of the Year BASHFUL! It’s a lovely pink that goes so nicely with all our other colors especially the new basics!
My card also features a brand new M sized stamp which I repeatedly stamped on water color paper and then water colored with soft pinks and greens. The Thank You stamp is from a set that carried over All The Thanks! I finished it by adding a few clear sparkles and think I managed a very elegant card. Someone recently said that I make clean and simple look sophisticated – I’ll take that as a complement.
Thanks for stopping by…take a minute and leave me a comment and tell me what the weather is like in your neck of the woods and then hop on over to my friend Debi Brile’s That Might Look Good On A Card blog where you’re sure to find some delightful work.
Tis the season for needing to send thank you cards and this fun card has absolutely no stamping! I found this card from a sister consultant and knew I had to CaSE it (Copy and Selectively Edit). Kandi’s card was made with the adorable Whimsy Fundamentals and she was sweet enough to share the demensions – I hope you’ll go check it out and leave her some love.
I switched my papers to the striking black and white of the Uptown Fundamentals collection and added Pomegranate and Seaglass accents. The Daisy is from the Cricut Flower Market collection. I have a special fondness for daisies and even used with with chocolate colored centers in my wedding.
Thanks for stopping by!
Actually there’s a bunch of new colors most of which appear in the newly redesigned Adventure Color Palette, but the color I’d like to introduce to you today is Seaglass!
Seaglass is is an exclusive new Color of the Year. This beautiful new minty hue will only be available for one year so make sure you get it in all forms, stamp pad, re-inker, cardstock and my all time favorite GLITTER PAPER!!!
This card also features papers and complements from the new Basic Fundamentals line and a brand new Thin Cut, you’re going to LOVE the new Annual Expressions and all it’s goodness.
If you’ll be at my catalog launch Saturday between 1-3 you’ll get to see this pretty color in person. Of course you’ll see some other great new Close to My Heart products too. If you’d like a sneak peek at the new products visit my website at http://www.papercraftingprincess.closetomyheart.com.

Lemonade is probably one of my all time favorite summer drinks…it used to be iced tea and then I married into a Texan family that is all about Sweet Tea, but it just doesn’t seem to have the same thirst quenching power of Lemonade.
I fell in love with the Iced Cold Summer My Acrylix stamp set in the Seasonal Expressions 2 idea book so it was soon on my wish list and amazingly now part of my collection 🙂 Funny how that happens!
This stamp set paired perfectly with the Taste of Summer papers for National Scrapbook Month from Close to My Heart. Do you have yours? Follow the link and get them ordered before the end of May and pick up the matching stamp set and you’ll be all set for your summer time photo ops!
I never seem to have enough thank you notes on hand so I finished off the inside with the Artfully Sent Cricut Compatible stamp set frames and sentiment. The Canary and Smoothie work so well together…just like Pink Lemonade!
Thanks for stopping by today, I hope I’ve inspired you to create when life gives you lemons! What’s your favorite summertime drink?
Every once in a while I find it necessary to pull out some other company’s stamps and create! My husband’s two nieces are both demonstrators for another company (I know what’s wrong with them?) so I have plenty of stamps to choose from!
I love cards with a fun fold so when I saw this Pop Out Swing Card I knew I had to give it a try. Thankfully there was also a video tutorial :).
When Miss B saw this stamp set, she wanted it for her birthday invitations. I’m finding lots of fun uses for it and haven’t even started on those invitations yet.
Thanks for stopping by!
Sometimes I feel that with the invention of the internet and social media a lot has been lost. I think the human connection behind an actual “Thank You” card is something that is really important. I try and keep a variety of cards on hand, but while sifting through the stacks of birthday, anniversary and holiday cards I couldn’t find a thank you card.
Good thing I’m a card maker, because I whipped out this card in no time! I think it took me longer to write the note on the inside. I was inspired by a card I recently saw on Pinterest and after saving it realized that I don’t know who to give proper credit to.
I fell in love with the simplicity of some layered ruby & slate paper, a black sparkle swirl and a piece of ruby chevron ribbon. The “thanks” is from the My Acrylix set Happy Autumn, I just used a black marker to ink the area that I wanted to use. The sentiment is popped up just a little with foam 3D tape.
I hope you’ll add a few Thank You cards to your stash and that you’ll stop by again soon!
There’s two things in my craft room that I couldn’t live without…my Cricut and my Big Shot! I was so excited when Close to My Heart announced the release of new embossing folders. I love the deep impression that they give and I’m always looking for a new way to use them.
As a Close to My Heart Consultant I have access to an artwork bulletin board that at times leaves me speechless with the plethora of amazing artwork! I recently saw this cute card from Jody Gustafson and decided that I need to try one for myself.
These papers from the Ariana paper packet have such a different feel by only using the blues and adding a piece of the Ruby Shimmer Trim.
