Welcome back to another Color My Heart Color Dare challenge. This week we are challenging you to use Black, Thistle, Pear and White Daisy in your creations.
I think I’m stuck on Halloween this year – those cute little monsters really grabbed my heart, but since my birthday card stash is a bit low I decided to reach for birthday stamps instead.
My card makes use of the new Uptown Fundamental and Whimsy Fundamental paper packets. I found some new sketches to try over on Pinterest, I usually stick to our pattern books, but this pattern looked fun. If you’ve followed me for any length of time you know that I’m bow challenged so I want to again share a “stamping technique” that I learned from The Wizards Hangout. You see that bow is actually formed from the button and piece of twine – Vicki has complete instructions on her blog if you click on the link to The Wizards Hangout you’ll be taken right to the instructions and of course an adorable card.
I’m going to link up to the following challenges:
Do you have any fun challenges that you participate in? Leave me a comment with the link to the challenge blog and I’ll come check it out.

Happy Friday…it’s time for a new Color Dare and if purples are your thing this is your week! Color Dare #212 challenges you to use White Daisy, Black, Eggplant, Thistle and Pansy…sounds like a fun challenge to me!
spending wasting some time on Pinterest when I ran across this card which I fell in love with for several reasons #1 it uses hexagons, #2 it has a simple sentiment #3 I could easily duplicate it.
My hexagons are stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento and Pansy. When stamping with solid stamps it’s best to have your Versamat turned to the spongy side so you get good coverage. The sentiment was stamped with Eggplant – it’s such a nice deep purple and that sentiment love the combined script & print!! The flower is stamped in Thistle – it’s probably my favorite of all our purples. I wanted to keep the look clean and simple so I just added touches of purple accent (a glitter gem in the center of the flower and a glitter heart at the end of the sentiment.
Now hop on over to the Color My Heart Color Dare Blog where you will find some other wonderful cards from the Design Team. I love that we all have such different ideas. Won’t you take some time and play along? It’s super easy to link up your creation – all the instructions are right there on the sidebar of the blog.
Thanks for stopping by…see you next week.
The Color My Heart Color Dare had one of my favorite color combos this week. Pear, Lagoon, Crystal Blue and Thistle.
I already had my card in my head when I got an email that said I’d been selected to join the Color Dare as a Design Team member starting in July.
I loved this Firework Fun stamp set, but wanted to feature it in something other than the traditional red, white and blue.
My 6×6 card is from the Originals Card Confidence Program – On The Side. Do you use our pattern books? I love them!
Thanks for stopping by, take a minute to go visit the color dare and share what you can do with these fun colors!
I’m really trying to get my birthday stash replenished and with a little push decided to take a gander over at the Close to My Heart Color Dare – I was pleasantly surprised with the Pixie, Glacier, Thistle and White Daisy that I found waiting for me. Now for a sketch…I wanted to try something new so I took a turn at Freshly Made Sketches, once more I hit the jackpot!
I had a lot of fun pairing the Glacier Houndstooth paper from Zoe with the Thistle Floral from Penelope – now for that Pixie! I used the Brushstrokes stamp for a big base of Pixie, stamped the sentiment in Thistle and started adding embellishments from the Penelope Complements.
Here’s a close up!
This card was lots of fun and fairly quick to put together. I challenge you to take a look around the web for inspiration and stop by the Close to My Heart Color Dare. It’s really fun to make a project when all the hard parts are figured out for you!
Thanks for stopping by!
I had so much fun playing with the February Stamp of the Month “A Happy Hello” that I decided I’d see what other uses I could come up with.
I found a cute card while visiting a Stampin’ Up Demonstrators blog. Julie is uber talented and shares lots of free video and PDF tutorials and my thoughts are anything can look better when made with Close to My Heart products it doesn’t matter where the inspiration came from!
I stamped the card in Sweet Leaf and Thistle ink then cut the panel down the middle – flipped the cut pieces in opposite directions and cut them again. Once I had all the pieces mounted on a piece of Sweet Leaf Paper Fundamentals I layered it to a piece of Kraft Cardstock. I finished it off with some left over purple sparkles to give it a dash of glitz! The Thank You sentiment comes from the Cricut Artfully Sent bundle – LOVE all the choices!
Thanks for stopping by today!
Let me introduce you to the five brand new colors in the Whimsy Family…Flaxen, Glacier, Pixie, Canary and Thistle.
I love it when Close to My Heart introduces new colors to their pallet, even though it means a few favorites had to retire. I think I am most excited about Pixie and Thistle don’t they look just perfect for a Princess?
I can’t wait to show you the new things I’ve made with them.
Check back often!
