My goal is to get a lot of my papers used up before the new catalog which goes live August 1st so today I bring you a little more Zoe!
While most of my CTMH peeps are in Orlando at Annual Convention, I’m at home
sulking creating. My neighbor, Sharon, came by to take my mind off things and brought along the cute Lovely Garden stamp set. I thought the simple lines would be perfect to do a little paper piecing with so the skirt of the dress and the water can are both stamped on Zoe papers and then cut and pieced. I colored the rest of the dress and the girl with the Shin Han markers. This sweet stamp set is only available until the end of July you can order it here.
Have you done any paper piecing? It’s really an easy and fun technique that brings lots of dimension to your art. I hope you’ll take time to leave me a comment…I look forward to reading each and everyone of them!
I have been a bit of an airhead lately, first I left my coat at the TSA check at Sea-Tac and then when going back to pick up my coat we met friends for lunch and I lost my keys. Sea-Tac is a bit of a jaunt from my house so I asked a big favor of our friend to run to the restaurant and pick up my keys then just a few days later he hand delivered them!
Sticky Boy, Close to My Heart’s Mascot, said that this was one of his favorite stamp sets and since I am including a Starbucks Gift Card as gratitude I thought I should use the Treats of Friendship stamp set, too!
You’ll notice that this isn’t just an ordinary card…that donut slides back and forth on a couple of pennies. Click to see a short video on my Facebook page.
Would you like to make one of these cards? You can find the instructions here – I think the trick is getting the circles at the end of the slots so your pennies spin.
Thanks for stopping by!
I’m really trying to get my birthday stash replenished and with a little push decided to take a gander over at the Close to My Heart Color Dare – I was pleasantly surprised with the Pixie, Glacier, Thistle and White Daisy that I found waiting for me. Now for a sketch…I wanted to try something new so I took a turn at Freshly Made Sketches, once more I hit the jackpot!
I had a lot of fun pairing the Glacier Houndstooth paper from Zoe with the Thistle Floral from Penelope – now for that Pixie! I used the Brushstrokes stamp for a big base of Pixie, stamped the sentiment in Thistle and started adding embellishments from the Penelope Complements.
Here’s a close up!
This card was lots of fun and fairly quick to put together. I challenge you to take a look around the web for inspiration and stop by the Close to My Heart Color Dare. It’s really fun to make a project when all the hard parts are figured out for you!
Thanks for stopping by!
Wow! Monday already…time for another challenge at the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I have to admit when I first saw this sketch I was a little perplexed, but when I started laying out scraps of Zoe Paper it came together quickly.
Even though I try and work on my birthday cards in advance every so often I need to put together one for a special friend. I loved the colors of Zoe and using up some more of the flowers from the complement pack will hopefully deliver her a special wish.
Even though it’s no longer available the September Constant Campaign stamp set seems to keep getting pulled out and used. I think the bold handwritten happy paired with the very precise outlined birthday is a great combination.
Make sure you visit the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and show us what you can do with this sketch…also come back on Wednesday and see what the rest of the Design Team has designed this week.
Yes, I know I’ve been missing in action. I can’t believe it’s already Friday! I’ve spent the better part of the last three weeks being sick (not fun) and then last weekend we had to make a trip across the state to work on a rental (also not fun)!
I met one of my friends for coffee yesterday and she brought me a cute little canister filled with tea – I didn’t realize it was filled with tea until I got home so I thought the “oh, hey thanks” was an appropriate sentiment. I added the Coral Shimmer Trim to cover the seams between the B&T and cardstock…I love the sparkle it brought to the card.
See those cute little flowers? They are from the Zoe Complements pack. The complements is a new pack of embellishments that includes 2 6X6 sticker sheets, Vellum and Kraft die cuts. Fun, fun, fun!!!
Thanks for stopping by…it’s good to be back sharing my art. I hope you’ve gained some inspiration!
Waiting is the hardest part of being on the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge Design Team. Sketch #124 was the perfect excuse to pull out some more Zoe Papers and play. I love the big bold flower in the lower corner, it is a from the Girls Rock C1538 My Acrylix Stamp Set and lucky for me it has a matching Cricut cut.
I sliced my Coral Shimmer Trim right down the middle and layered on the sides of the Smoothie Dot Paper and finished it with three triangles from the Green Enamel and Glitter Duos. I think these are one of my new favorite accessories to play with.
I stamped the flower in Canary and Smoothie ink and then sponged the edges of the cut as well. The center is from the Zoe Assortment – a self adhesive faceted gem.
I hope you’ll join us at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge this week and maybe next week and the week after that too. Make sure you check the blog on Wednesday to see what the other DT members created. It’s sure to be a treat!
I have been so excited for my post today because I have joined the Design Team at the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge Blog. It’s always been a blog challenge that I look to first for my designs so I’m super excited to be among the best of the best in my opinion.
I was crazy about sketch 120 as soon as I saw it except the fact that it had a ribbon which I instantly turned into the new Coral Shimmer Trim (I can’t get enough of this color). What do you think of the new Zoe paper? I LOVE IT and I’m already on my second package – a first for me!!! I love the new complements that Close to My Heart has given us to work with. That little Kraft flower is from the Zoe Complements pack. The stamp I chose is from the Documenting Moments set.
I’m not sure if you can see in the picture, but that little flower is actually popped up with a piece of thin 3D foam tape. I was skeptical until I accidentally ordered some and realized that I had been missing out for a long time. It’s now a “go to” product I use all the time.
You’ll also see that I added three little banners to the inside of the card. I think it’s just as important to make the inside pretty too.
Show us your interpretation of this sketch. You have all week to create your art and link up at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge Blog
